how dare you 99

Chapter 99 Amber POV I woke up that morning feeling sore, a quiet reminder of everything that had happened the night before. A small smile crept onto my lips as I stared at the ceiling. It had been intense, overwhelming… but also right. Completely right. We were finally mated. Fully, undeniably bonded,I turned my head slightly, looking at him beside me, still asleep. Peaceful. Content. My chest tightened in the best way. Carefully, I slipped out of bed and made my way into the bathroom, closing the door softly behind me. After a moment, I stepped into the shower, letting the warm water wash over me, easing the tension in my muscles. I had just started to relax when I heard the door open. A second later, the shower door slid open, and his arms wrapped around me from behind, pulling me gently against him. I leaned back into his chest without hesitation, my eyes closing as we stood there together under the water. We didn’t need words. We helped each other wash up, moving in quiet sync, comfortable in a way that only mates could be. Eventually, reality crept back in. “My parents,” I muttered softly. He let out a low sigh. “Yeah… that’s going to be interesting.” We finished up quickly, dried off, and got dressed. Hand in hand, we made our way down the hall toward my father’s office. The moment we stepped inside, I knew exactly how this was going to go. Ripley walked in first, steady and confident. I followed right behind him. My dad looked up… then froze. He sniffed the air. A low, dangerous growl rumbled from his chest. “How dare you do that to my daughter,” he snapped, standing halfway from his chair. “I should throw you in the cells for the rest of—” “Drago, calm down.” My mom’s voice cut through his anger like a blade. “You will not do that. She is of age, and they are mates. Sit down and handle this properly.” My father growled again, but slowly lowered himself back into his chair. His fingers pressed into the marble desk so hard I thought it might crack. When he spoke again, his voice was tight, controlled. “I called you both in here to inform you that the land for your pack has been cleared. Construction has already begun.” My breath caught. “In about a month,” he continued, “everything should be ready.” I squeezed Ripley’s hand. “I’ll go back and..” “I will go with, ” I started. “No, you won’t. You will stay….” “Drago Blanner.” My mom didn’t raise her voice, but it didn’t need to be loud. “She is the Luna of that pack. She will go where she chooses. You will stop this right now.” Silence filled the room. My father exhaled sharply, leaning back in his chair. “Fine,” he muttered. “Doesn’t mean I have to like it.” I stepped forward slightly, meeting his gaze. “I know,” I said softly. “But I’m not just your daughter anymore.” His jaw tightened, but he didn’t argue. Because we all knew the truth. I had a pack to lead now. And I wasn’t going to run from it.
