Chapter 75
Amber POV
Waking up this morning felt… different.
Everything about me had changed.
I had three beings inside me now, Summber, my white wolf… Nyx, my dragon… and then the lycan. A powerful, ancient-feeling white lycan whose name I still didn’t even know.
That alone should have terrified me. Honestly? It did.
I wasn’t even sure if my parents knew this could happen. If they did… Why didn’t they tell me? And then there was the demon.
The one that kept coming for me. A shiver ran down my spine.
Why does he want me so badly?
“Well, he can’t have me,” I muttered under my breath. “I’m done being hunted.”
I threw the covers off and forced myself out of bed. Laying there all morning wasn’t going to give me answers.
After taking a quick shower, I wrapped a towel around myself and stepped out of the bathroom, and froze.
Ripley.
He was just getting out of bed.
I had completely forgotten he stayed with me last night. He hadn’t left my side for even a second.
His eyes locked onto mine… then slowly trailed down my body.
I felt heat rush to my face.
“Amber,” he said, his voice tight, controlled. “Please get dressed. You have no idea what you’re doing to me right now.”
To be honest… neither did I.
Trying to ignore the sudden tension in the room, I quickly slipped into my walk-in closet and got dressed. Jeans. T-shirt. Simple.
Safe.
I pulled my hair into a ponytail and took a steadying breath before stepping back out.
Ripley was sitting on the edge of the bed, elbows on his knees. The moment he saw me, he stood and walked over.
“Listen,” he started, his tone serious now. “I need to head back to my pack. I have to check on things… but I also need to talk to your father.”
I frowned slightly. “About what?”
“I want to move my pack closer to the kingdom,” he said. “Maybe even combine forces eventually.”
My heart skipped. He wanted to be closer… for me. For us.
Before I could overthink it, I spoke.
“I’ll go with you.”
His eyes widened.
“We’re mates, right?” I continued, suddenly nervous. “So… can I come? Or do you need to go alone?”
The tension in his face melted instantly.
“Amber,” he said, a smile breaking through, “if you want to come, I’d love that. I already told my pack I found my Luna. They’ve all been dying to meet you.”
I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Then go talk to my dad,” I said. “I’ll pack for a few nights.”
He nodded, leaning in to kiss my cheek before heading out.
Ripley POV
I honestly didn’t expect her to say yes.
Not only yes, but that she wanted to stay a few days.
That meant something.,Something real. I made my way to Drago’s office, already preparing myself for whatever reaction he was about to have.
The moment I stepped inside, he looked up, and immediately narrowed his eyes.
“I swear, if you touched my daughter last night”
“Drago, calm down,” Levonna cut in smoothly. “They are mates. She’s of age.”
“I don’t care if she’s of age,” he snapped. “She’s under my roof.”
“Drago,” she said sharply. “Let him talk.”
He shut his mouth instantly, though the glare he sent me could’ve killed a weaker man.,I cleared my throat.
“I’m heading back to my pack,” I said. “But I wanted to ask… I’d like to move my pack closer to the kingdom. Buy land nearby.”
Drago’s eyes darkened.
“I want Amber to always be close to her family,” I added. “No matter where she chooses to live.”
A low growl rumbled in his chest… but it stopped the moment Levonna looked at him.
“Fine,” he muttered. “You don’t need to buy land. You’re my son-in-law now.”
That… surprised me.
“I’ll have builders start clearing land and preparing for your pack,” he continued. “Give it a few weeks.”
Relief hit me fast.
“Thank you, sir. I’ll inform my pack so they can prepare.”
He nodded stiffly.
Right as he was about to say something else, the door opened.
Amber walked in, a small bag in her hand.
“I’m going with Ripley for a few days,” she said.
Drago immediately tensed, about to stand, but Levonna beat him to it.
“I think that’s a wonderful idea,” she said warmly. “Let your future pack meet you. You are their Luna.”.She pulled Amber into a hug.
“Be careful. Both of you.”
Amber hugged her back, then turned to her father. He hugged her too, though his eyes stayed locked on me the entire time.
Yeah… if looks could kill, I’d already be dead.
We stepped outside together. No car needed. We shifted.
Her dragon was just as breathtaking as ever.
She grabbed her bag in her claws, and with one powerful push, we took to the sky. Side by side. Heading toward my pack.
