14 Poker TimeIt was late in the evening and Daniels presided at the head of the large mahogany conference table. He was flanked by Colonel Johnson and Alec McGeady, and at the opposite end of the room sat a silent individual whom no one knew except for Daniels. McGeady looked at the young blond haired, blue-eyed man and from somewhere he conjured up a smile. It was not returned. Daniels was busy looking through a pile of official reports, deliberately keeping the rival intelligence officers waiting. The atmosphere was saturated with nervous tension, to an extent where McGeady was uncharacteristically smiling at everyone.
