22 The Viper’s NestAfter avoiding the assassination attempt, McGeady fled the scene, but not before he had watched the Colonel and his remaining men leave the VR Park. He finally headed for a department safe house in the suburbs, where he spent what was left of the night. By morning, he realised that he was a sitting duck and decided to risk everything and act on his gut reaction. McGeady knew that the city would be flooded with intelligence personnel trying to locate him and that Daniels was the only man who had the authority to save him.
