Lana Wynter’s world shattered that night her mother died. She was only 10 years old then, but the memory of that fateful night remained etched in her mind like a scar. That night, as she stood in the cold, dark forest, her mother grasped her hand, her eyes wild with desperate urgency. “Run, Lana” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the sound of howling wolves. “Don’t look back. Don’t let them find you.” Lana’s mother pushed her away, and she stumbled backward, tripping over the roots and crashing to the ground. As she scrambled to her feet, she saw her mother transform into a magnificent wolf, her fur shining silver in the moonlight. The last thing Lana saw was her mother’s wolf form, disappearing into the darkness, pursued by the very creatures they had feared for so long. Lana rose to her feet, her fingers trembling as she clutched to the small pouch of herbs and trinkets her mother gave her before they ran into the forest. Her mother’s words echoed in her mind: “… don’t let them find you.” But it was too late! The rogue pack found her. They knew she was the last heir of the ancient lunar bloodline and she needed to be eliminated for them to take over the lunar inheritance completely. Her mother’s last wish echoed again in her mind. “I failed you, mother.” she mumbled as a member of the rogue pack dragged her along, mercilessly. He was a gamma wolf: hairy, heavily built and strong. He dragged her like a criminal and brought her to their lair – RAVEN’S PEAK- and took her to the dungeon. “I’m only ten years.” she whimpered, as fear of what might happen to her overshadowed her. She was thrown into the dungeon, which was pitch dark, and was left alone to suffer her fate which would be decided the next morning. She had only two options – execution or s*****y to the rogue pack. She had fear of the dark, and here she was in the dark dungeon. “Mother, I failed to protect our dynasty. I failed you. I don’t even know if you’re dead or alive. I’m really sorry, mother. I’m coming to meet you in the great beyond tomorrow. I know I won’t survive this. Don’t curse me when you see me tomorrow, mother. I’m too young… too fragile to protect and fight for myself, and I haven’t even wolfed out yet. I’m just a fragile cub…” she said, sobbing so much that her breathing became ragged. Just as she was crying, she heard tip-toes. She immediately raised her head up to try to figure out whether she was really hearing tip-toes or she was just delusional. As she was trying to look through the darkness, she felt someone’s touch. The person was close! She gasped. She immediately tried to grab whoever was touching her and she did. She was holding a person’s hand. “Hey! Why’d you grab me like that?!” the person yelled. “Sorry, who is it?” Lana asked with shaky voice. “I’m sure I startled you and I apologize for that. I’m Xavi. I heard you crying. You were thrown in by those heartless wolves, right?” the person said. “Yes, I was. What are you doing here?” Lana asked. She was calmer now because someone was in the dungeon with her. Xavi replied, “Well, I was thrown in here last week. They didn’t execute me yet because their leader was not in the mood for executions. He was busy making plans on how to attack the Lunar dynasty…” “He already attacked the Lunar dynasty and that’s why I’m here” Lana said and sighed.
