CHAPTER FIFTY

1221 Words

KILLIAN’S POV. I dropped Meadow off in her room that morning before coming back to mine. Her ankle was still swollen, and she moved slower than she wanted to admit. I did not comment on it, but I made sure she got to the bed safely before leaving her there. She did not complain, but I could see the frustration in her eyes. Now, back in my room, I shut the door behind me and let out a slow breath. The cabin felt quieter in the morning light. The storm from last night had weakened, leaving behind a dull grey sky and damp air that clung to everything. It should have felt peaceful, but I only felt tired. Very tired. Everything from the night before still sat heavily in my mind. Meadow’s story. Lucian. Clarissa. Eloisa. Too many names, too many connections that did not sit right with me.
