MEADOW’S POV. Rain hammered steadily against the tall windows while thunder rumbled somewhere far outside the pack house. Every few minutes, lightning flashed brightly enough to light up the entire room before darkness settled again. I pulled the duvet higher around myself and curled deeper into the massive bed. The room was warm. The blankets were soft, the fireplace crackled quietly near the corner, and the rain outside should have felt calming. But none of it helped. The uncomfortable feeling twisting inside my chest had not left since I arrived here. My eyes drifted toward the windows again. By now, Hollow Mountain had probably discovered I was missing.
