It hurt.
Goddess, it hurt so much.
I curled tighter on the bed, both hands wrapped around my stomach as though I could somehow stop the pain from tearing me apart.
Another wave crashed through me.
A cry escaped my lips.
"Ah..."
My whole body shook.
Sweat soaked my forehead, my neck, even my clothes.
Every breath came out uneven, fast and shallow.
I couldn't think.
I couldn't even remember how long I'd been like this.
Minutes?
Hours?
I had no idea.
All I knew was that the pain wasn't stopping.
It only kept getting worse.
Why?
Why was it so much worse this time?
I squeezed my eyes shut.

Another sharp stab shot through my stomach.
