When she came to, Charmaine Sng Jiajia - as "Mei Ling" had revealed her true name to be - related how she had become quite depressed after being orphaned and nearly r***d when she was not yet 16. She had done badly in school and had wanted to join the convent - but not before bearing a child first. As she had lost faith in men for the most part, she signed up at KK Hospital to be a confidential surrogate mother. Her labour period had been quite long and somehow the convulsions stopped. Just as she was wondering what was wrong, the screaming cries from the other babies jolted her. Added to the fact that those were plainly not normal cries from newborn babies, there came muffled screaming from their moms as well. She packed what she could within two minutes and ran out, almost caught by the shady hooded figure in the midst of his gruesome deeds - and she had just enough time to catch that he was wielding some kind of curved sword

Damien didn't have time, however, for further contemplation, as the teen went into convulsions now. Aided by the pale-faced and mortified young boy in blue, Damien carried her inside.
And there, in that same motorcycle shed where the grisly remains of the ill-fated newborns were found, a new life came into the world - kicking and screaming.
