Britain 1348-9I wake up in a ditch by the side of a dirt road. It may sound strange, but lying there in a gully in the countryside, I feel safe. I have left my reality and am once again in Will’s, I hope. The stress seeps from my body as I relax for the first time in a year. I’m nearly home. Luckily it hasn’t rained recently so I can brush the dirt from my long skirt as I stand. The day is still early, but it feels like it will warm up later. I have two directions I can take along the empty road. As I try to guess which direction will take me towards Will, a plaintive meowing reaches my ears.
