“ Why is that unfortunate?” “Because for him to be crowned king his age is to be married but he seems uninterested in all possible princesses in this world. We even tried to get him to marry commoners just so that he would get married.” “Why does he need to be married so young?” “His family was murdered by the Pyrothons which is what the pyrosnakes call themselves. They were killed a few years back, if the prince doesn’t become king, the only other possible heir to the throne will be the king’s successor. After he becomes the king he will guide the pyrothons and lead them to ending our world as we know it. When he’s done that he could find the cave and make his way to your world and do it again.” “Can anyone be eligible for the marriage with the prince?” “Originally, no. One would have had to have been a female and of a prestigiously ranked family. But since the prince doesn’t show interest in commoners or in women, we’ve opened it up so that anyone who fits the same age as the prince. They were hoping that once the law be switched so that he could marry as he pleased he would marry quicker, but that expectation was quickly released off him. He still refuses to marry.” So we spent the next week traveling, we stopped for potty breaks and that was it. We had snacks in the carriage and they lasted the whole week. We traveled discreetly and to celebrate heading towards the palace Hannah finally gave Cam the weapons she made for them. Of course she handed them over as disks because the would fit in the carriage otherwise. I wonder what was pulling the carriage, I never got to see. “Hannah, you’ve been awfully quiet for awhile. Are you okay?” Eli asked her. “I’m planning.” This was the beginning of a conversation that I personally did not want to hear, strictly between those 2. “Planning what?” “A wedding, a drawing, a weapon, a comic.” “Whose wedding? What drawing? Whose weapon? What comic?” “Mars. Forests. Mine. The one of us here.” “I think Mars already beat you to the comic.”! “We are working on it together as we speak. He’s writing out plot points in chronological order, and I’m writing ideas to draw.” “Is that right Mars? You guys are writing a comic book without us?” Cameron asked me directly. “Leave me alone for a solid minute please! But you can’t even say it with that tone, because it implies that you and Eli haven’t written comics without us. But me and Hannah know you’ve already done a comic without us. Mom found a copy and showed it to us.” Eli and Cameron both looked at each other, concerned it seems. But honestly, I can’t tell anymore. Do they care about us? Do they not? We weren’t upset that they made a comic without us. I was upset that they didn’t tell us. I would have supported them as a group of two or even as a unit within the group. I was upset that they didn’t want us to know. That they thought they had to hide it from us. Now Cam was upset that we only started planning a comic without them. What hypocrites. The rest of the day finished without a hitch. Mainly because no one talked. Hannah and I finished the outlines for everything in the comic.
