She stood there, looking at Amara like she was trying to figure her out.
“I’m Victoria ,” she said. “His assistant.”

Amara nodded. “Amara.”
Victoria smiled slightly. “I didn’t know he was capable of surprises.”
Alexander didn’t react. “Is there something you need?”
“Meeting in ten minutes,” she said, still looking at Amara.

Amara crossed her arms. “She seems… close to you.”
“She works for me.”
“That’s not what I meant.”
His gaze met hers. “It’s all it is.”
