  Rafferty POV   After meeting with Treyton in his chambers, I excused myself, claiming fatigue, and returned to my own chambers. But as I lay in bed, I couldn't shake off the restlessness. My mind was racing with thoughts and worries, making it impossible to sleep.   I tossed and turned for a while before finally getting out of bed and deciding to take a walk to the kitchen to get a bottle of water.
