Ava POV I had been trying to shake off the strange feelings that had been lingering since my return from the pack house, but they only seemed to intensify as the days passed. I didn't know what to make of them, but I knew I had to put on a brave face for my parents' sake. They worried easily, and I didn't want to add to their concerns. As I headed to the kitchen, my mom called out to me again. "Ava, come quickly!" I hastened my pace, wondering what was amiss. When I arrived, she was standing by the cabinet, a letter in her hand. She tossed it to me, and I caught it, recognizing the royal palace stamp. My heart skipped a beat as I looked up at my mom, puzzled and curious. Why would the palace be sending us a letter? I didn't dare open it, my fear and uncertainty holding me back.
