chapter 28: Belleful

1661 Words
Crystal had consumed everything on the plate, and she was now overfed. Like seriously, there is no joy than having a well-fed stomach. Just being this way makes Crystal glad. Carrying a glass of water in her hand, she gently placed it on her lips, gulping it down, she drank everything till not a drop of water was left. "I can't believe I ate everything. Thank you so much, prince Khalil, this is the best meal I've had in a long while, I couldn't even get the taste of turkey in my mouth anymore," she said. Prince Khalil who sat at the other hand of the table stirred at the lady with bright eyes, it is an amazement to see a pretty lady like Crystal eat and appreciate it. All the funny girls in his life always acted out like clowns, behaving like they were too good to appreciate a simple meal. Here is Crystal, she did that for free, and didn't need the prince's approval to tell him the meal was excellent. Well, it is true that Khalil didn't cook the meal, but at least, he served her, that is enough reason to make her tell him a simple grant of appreciation. "You are welcome, I admire the way in wish you are everything, that shows you were truly hungry. I wonder why these people in my kingdom don't treat the prisoners well, for heaven's sake, there is enough that can go round and satisfy everybody," prince Khalil said. Well, that is true, but Crystal didn't seem to be on the same accord with him, as she opened her mouth to speak, the prince could feel the harshness in her words, it was evident. "You should have been more responsible with your kingdom then. How on earth wouldn't you know that prisoners aren't being treated right? that is because you don't check, you don't even care about what happens or nor, I am sure that you are only interested in punishing criminals. It happens to be then that I am a criminal. You offered me a free meal, what about those who aren't an opportunity to have such an opportunity? wait, no need to tell me, let me guess, they will die, right? talk to be, you are the prince of Mount Paragon so you owe me a response," Crystal blurted out. She didn't mind about the fact that Khalil had just given her food, and also the fact that everything has passed on well, but now, what is next? will he be forced to send her back to the dungeon? or will she rest in the room he set for her yours ago? These thoughts became so confusing to the lady, she could barely think if that is what she needs or something else is involved in the matter. Clearing her throat, Crystal stared at him waiting for a reply. Khalil didn't have an answer to give her, he knew she was right, if he had been more vigilant, and checked on his prisoners often, he should have noticed the dilapidated condition in which his prisoners are subdued to leave in. As these thoughts flowed into his mind, Khalil's mind drifted for a moment to the room in which he had found Crystal back then. 'Yuck! just thinking about it makes me want to pass out,' he thought. The room wasn't Airfree, it reeked of urine and sweat, coupled with unwashed skin. Prince Khalil doesn't know why his facial idea was to take Crystal away from that place, maybe he had a secret agenda, but then, is It worth it? since that he took Crystal to the house, things aren't going on well, instead, it has moved from worse to worst, she talks to him anyhow, challenges his authority, yet, he is unable to stand against her, to put her in her place. Each time he thinks about doing so, the only word that comes to his mind is, 'You are a prince and not a woman beater. Yes, that is true, but Crystal wouldn't mind her business and shut her silly mouth up, all she will do is try to make me break down, Ind the funniest part of it is, I can't do anything. I get confused whether her actions are staged or absolutely real," Khalil thought weirdly. The thoughts were crazy, he could barely understand what is going on, and thinking about it will only succeed in making her mind try and blow off, something that he doesn't want to happen, not in this life or any other interim part him. As prince Khalil was stuck in his mind, trying to understand the kind of energy that surrounds Crystal, his mind was purely drifted away. His silence caused Crystal to grow mad at him, and like this, she slapped the table with all her power, giving him the shock of his life. "Why the f**k did you do that?" prince Khalil asked, then slapped himself mentally for saying the swear word. That was unethical and he couldn't simply just blurt it out like that, but then, he was so mad at her. He wanted to make her know that he wasn't proud of her actions Stirring at the prince with wide eyes, Crystal glared at him boldly. He has finally gotten the attention he deserves, there is nothing more than that and as she prepared to talk, she made sure her baby eyes were faced on Khalil's emerald eyes. She wanted to see the shock that will be painted in it as she prepares her words to blow his mind up. "What is now? and don't dare lie to me, or more ignore my question because I am not going to take it easy on you," she said. Crystal was serious about what she said, it was like a strict business pact she was trying to make with Khalil, by just holding his mind firmly. Unfortunately for her, Khalil didn't see through her stories, in fact, it was the least of her preoccupations, it didn't even bother her one bit. Khalil knew that Crystal was simply trying to get her way around him, to wrap him around her baby finger, and do some trickish things too, even though she was serious, the look in her eyes didn't say otherwise. It is so much fun for Khalil to hold her attention in that crazy manner. "What do you mean by what now? just sit where you are and wait for the food in your stomach to digest, that is as simple as that. Or do you need extra tutorials to help you out?" Khalil asked jokingly. To him, it was funny, but not to her. In fact, it felt like a million broken pieces of metals placed below her feet, and she was asked to climb on it. As he watched Crystal's face garden, he knew that his joke had been faintly received. Crystal had made up her mind on the things she wants to say to prince Khalil already, and joking around with jer in this crazy manner is not one of the things she adores the most. If he can limit the way he plays like this, that is in this cray manner, then, she would be happy. "When am I returning to the dungeon?" she questioned. Even though Crystal was placed in a room, she wasn't sure if that was a good sign, besides, everyone accuses her of murdering the king__ 'why then will his son but his father's murderer in a place where she will be comfortable?' she wondered as the question popped in her head. There is no doubt that Khalil had his own plans, 'what if suffocating me in the night is part of this plan?' she thought frantically. These are the kind of things that make her mind go crazy, she can barely think about it that way, yet, there must be a logical explanation to what is happening. For instance, why is the prince so attached to her? There is always a notice that gods by the way that we should always gear the people that don't act when we do that harm, rather, they show positive actions towards us. Statistic has it that they are one of the most dangerous people that the world record book of human behaviors can ever note down. Like seriously, it is always better you know that the person is bad and isn't good than to know that he is good, but would do something that would make life difficult than anything on earth for them. Sighing, prince Khalil took his time to admire Crystal. She has asked a very good question in which he wouldn't waste time in answering them, she needs to know that answer to t question she just asked without having to hit her head with a rod. "What dungeon?" prince Khalil questioned. Crystal remained silent. For a minute, she cracked her head finding the answer to the question, yet it was difficult. Swirling her head towards the other side, she blushed profusely. She deeply wanted to scream at him, to let her know what was in her mind. For heaven's sake, how would he forget about a dungeon? where the hell did he pick her from a while ago? wasn't it that disgusting place his soldiers kept her? she wondered. From the corner of her eyes, she saw the prince creasing her face, waiting for a reply. It is obvious that he was possibly making fun of her. In anger, Crystal jumped from the chair as she made up her mind to leave. Unfortunately, her plans were crushed away when she stepped on broken pieces of glasses. "Aahhhhh! oh my God..." she screamed at the top of her voice as she was started crying. This is the worst thing that can ever happen to her, she feels like she has committed the worst crime in her life.
