Jonathan's jaw tightened. He took the aisle mic. “Because I believed Ivy had been provoked. I was misinformed." His gaze snapped to Emma. “And I am being misrepresented." He faced the room. “Emma is lying."
“On everything," Jonathan said. “I intervened. I rescued her. I took her to the hospital."
Caroline started to speak. Emma touched her arm and lifted the mic. “You arrived after," Emma said. “You weren't the first."
“I saw enough," Jonathan said. “I saw more than anyone else here." His voice took on that careful strength taught in leadership classes. “I am a reliable witness."
Ivy leaned to her mic. “Please," she said softly. “Don't fight because of me. I have already admitted fault."
