“You got it pres.” My voice was full of laughter and I realised that I was happy. Not a little bit happy but overwhelming, laugh at everything,happy.
I had everything I wanted. Everything I had always wanted and not known right at my finger tips. Sure there was still danger looming over us. There would always be danger, that came with the life I had chosen but for today at least I could just enjoy my new family.
Laughter filled the air as I tugged Delilah’s lithe frame out of the folding chair. I would have liked to fling her over shoulder, cave man style but my ribs and bust up shoulder stopped that.
