We approached Ramadan's house which was only few yards away from ours as the lawn of flowers and dwarfed barbed wires were the only thing that demarcated theirs from ours. We heard thuds, followed by yelps and scared screams of Adeel which had become an all so familiar sound in that house. Ammi stood in her track, her eyes becoming glassy, moments later, Baa, Ramadan's father quickly came out of the house, fixing his belt and briskly walked to his car.
