Tongues and Coffee

Chapter 5 Zorin's POV I made a promise I couldn't keep. River had made me swear on my d**k before leaving. I had sworn to keep her away from everything and everyone who would harm her. Only, he had forgotten to exclude me. Except for the f*****g La Morte who have their eyes on what's mine, I am the biggest threat towards Lumi, the poison she is already swallowing. I want to strip her bare of everything that isn’t me. Those dirty books; burn them. Friends; bury them. I want to be her only hobby, the only external stimuli she reacts to. I want to be the only god she prays to. The only devil she fears. I want her so broken that my name is the only word she remembers how to scream. I want to f**k the fight out of her until her please sounds like thank you. I liked that I was in control and in charge of her right now. No, I don’t like it. I f*****g love it. "Why are you staring at me like that" Lumi's voice snapped me out of my head. I cleared my throat, "Like what?" "Like you're hungry." I paused taking in her appearance. She was leaning on my desk, a bit wide-eyed. She was wearing a fitted white shirt that was almost transparent, paired with a black mini skirt. "Now that I think of it." My eyes trailed from her legs to her face, settling on her lips. "I think I'm a little hungry." "Ok! I will get you coffee" she stood and strutted over to the coffee maker. I watched the way her hips swayed, the skirt riding just high enough to flash the lace trim of her stockings. Cute. I stayed seated, watching as her fingers fumbled with the coffee grounds. She measured grounds with shaky hands. And I'm almost convinced she knows I'm watching. With my eyes still trained on her, I rose slowly. The chair pushed back with a soft thud, and she snapped her head towards me. A deep blush crawled up her neck, and she turned back to the coffee machine. Adjusting my tie I took deliberate steps towards her, stopping behind her. Close enough that my nose brushed her ear. Her breath audibly hitched at my presence. I exhaled, and her back straightened, releasing a shaky breath. "Need help, Lu?" She jolted in response, her back hitting my chest lightly. "I... I got it." She cleared her throat, reaching out for a cup, her shirt stretched exposing lots of cleavage and a little bit of her white lace bra. I leaned in, my mouth very close to her eyes. "You're blushing" "I'm not" "Look at me then" She took a deep breath, turning towards me. Her defiant stance didn't erase the red tint that is still spread on her cheeks. She blinked several times, avoiding eye contact, and I almost laughed. I raise my hand, tucking strands of her hair behind her ear. She slapped my hand off turning back to the coffee machine. She poured, turning with the cup in both hands. "Here." She held it out. But I didn’t take it. "Taste it first." She furrowed her brows. "What?" "You heard me." She rolled her eyes "You’re ridiculous." But she obeyed. Brought the cup to her lips and took a tiny sip. My fingers grazed her neckline, and she jolted; the coffee spilt on her chin. Perfect. I cupped her jaw, my thumb brushing her lips. I let out my tongue and licked the coffee off her chin, slowly. Tasting coffee and her. Her breath hitched, and she pushed me with wide eyes and a tomato-red glint on her cheeks. There it is. She turned away from me, "Zorin..." My hand settled on the counter beside hers, caging her. "Tasteless" I pressed closer. My hips pinned hers to the counter. The ridge of my c**k notched against the curve of her ass, hard. She gasped. A knock came in, "Mr Lane!" Into her ears I whispered, "More sugar next time," and I took the coffee cup and stepped back. I strode over to my chair, beckoning the voice outside to come in. The door opened. Alex stumbled in as usual, clutching his tablet and stacks of reports. "Mr Lane, the quarterly reports you asked for. And I scheduled that meeting with the investors for..." He paused mid-sentence, his gaze sliding to Lumi. My jaw clenched. He offered her a boyish grin. “Hi, I’m Alex, Mr Lane’s secretary.” He extended a hand. She smiled back. The pen in my fist snapped. "Lumi" Her fingers wrapped around his. A second. Two. Exactly seven seconds. I slammed the broken pen onto the desk. Both flinched, pulling away. The air froze. Alex turned, stuttering and barely meeting my eyes. "Anyway, the reports look solid. Profits up 15%..." “Alex.” My voice is low. “You’re fired.” Alex blinked, the papers slipping slightly in his grip. "What? Mr Lane, I... did I mess up the scheduling? I can fix..." My eyes stayed on her. The flush in her face had disappeared, her eyes were wide as she shook her head as if not believing what I'd done. Alex's face drained of colour. "Mr Lane, I'm very sorry..." “Get out.” I finally looked at him. “Before Security drags you out.” He stumbled backwards, apology dying on his tongue. The door clicked shut. Lumi exploded. “What the f**k was that?” She shot to her feet, fists clenched. “He didn’t do anything!” I tossed the quarterly reports away. “Protection,” I said. “He shouldn't have touched you at all” “I don’t need your protection!” Her voice cracked, cheeks blazing. Still Beautiful. I stepped closer but she didn’t back down. “You and River,” she spat, “You've kept this act from middle school all the way to high school. I never even had the chance to experience teenage love like the rest of the girls, no one even asked me to prom..." "I asked you to prom" "That's not the point Zorin! You asked me to prom because no one else did" "I asked you to the prom because I wanted to." I walked closer to her, stopping an inch away. Close enough to see the pulse in her throat. "We are protecting you, Lumi" "I. Don't. Need. It," she spat, pushing past me, but I cornered her, pinning her hands to the wall. "You don't have a choice, Lumi. I made a promise to protect you and by that promise I'll live. If you don't want to accept my protection..." “Then I’ll find new ways,” I murmured, “to make you accept it.” Her breath hitched. I leaned in. Lips brushing her ear. “Next man who touches you loses his limbs.” I pulled back. Sat down. "Well, I will not be that kind of woman. A woman you can order around" she heaved, "I quit!" "Sit" "I'm leaving!" She hung her bag over her shoulders and made to leave "Take one step towards that door and I'll cuff you to my desk." She stopped mid-track. If she feels I'm bluffing then she should try me. I pulled open a safe, dropping the cuffs on the desk, the soft metal clinking as it met the desk. "I hate you, Zorin Lane." Dropping her bag, she sat on a chair fuming. Good girl.
