Chapter 45 An Exception

Dugu Xiao was stunned. He looked at Dugu Muyou, feeling that she was totally a different person. He had been waiting for a chance to laugh at Dugu Zhong. Of course, he knew that Dugu Zhong had a notorious daughter.

In the past, Dugu Muyou was timid and self-abased. People called her the "good-for-nothing" while she didn't say anything about that, thinking it was the truth. Seeing Dugu Muyou's movement, Dugu Qinglan chuckled. Liu Pianpian, who had been unhappy, also looked better.

Dugu Muyou felt better when she saw her father's terrible look. She had never seen such a dad as him who treated his daughter like a dog. She wondered how the former owner of this body managed to survive from all of this.

Blood Fox, in the Yuehua Diamond, giggled and told Nangong Xun everything that Dugu Muyou had just done.

The latter was reclining on a cozy chair, reading an old book, with his hair hanging freely and the collar slightly open.

He said so in a distant way in response to Blood Fox's words. After that, he continued reading the book, though the smile in his eyes had exposed his thoughts.

Blood Fox could get him, but it hated what he said.

"What's wrong with the fox? I'm way more powerful than a tiger. Humph!"

Dugu Muyou heard its words, but she only thought Blood Fox was just doing that for nothing again.

The green spiritual qi began to disperse, as she had stopped manifesting it. She clapped and said, "Now I've proved that I'm qualified to have the core cultivation method. Do you have anything to say? If you don't, we're going back. We've planned to celebrate it, but now we're still here."

"You still remember it?" teased Madam Liu.

Dugu Muyou smiled at her in a naughty way.

Zhao Xue looked depressed. All she wanted was to let her daughter have the method. She had found Dugu Muyou only because she wanted to humiliate her in front of everyone. "I have a plan," said him suddenly. He turned to Dugu Zhong, against the looks of everyone, "I've known Piaopiao since she was a little girl. She's gifted, though she's just the daughter of a concubine. If she has the support of the family, she will achieve something great."

Both Zhao Xue and Dugu Zhong felt the same way. They knew what it meant to their beloved daughter, especially today when they had a fight because of this.

Zhao Xue seemed to see hope. She asked, "Your plan..."

Hoping for someone else to help her was the last thing she could do now.

However, Dugu Zhong didn't trust his brother, thinking Dugu Xiao must be up to something.

Seeing that they were interested, Dugu Xiao continued.

"It's a pity if Piaopiao's left behind like that. I think we can give her a chance. After Qinglan comes back, we will launch the family competition. If she performs good, we can let her have the core cultivation method. How about that?"

Dugu Zhong was surprised at his words. He asked with doubt, "But the rules..."

Dugu Xiao waved at him, "The rules can be changed. We can make an exception. The prosperity of our family is on the shoulders of these children. It's always good to give them more chances. You are the patriarch. It's time to make some changes."

Dugu Zhong said that after pretending to struggle for a while. It was wonderful that Dugu Xiao proposed that, not himself.

Dugu Zhong went serious, realizing that she was going to say something terrible again.

"That's it," confirmed her while nodding.

Dugu Zhong looked at her, wondering what had happened to her. However, he didn't see anything unusual on her face.

"If so, you don't need to do it after the family competition. Whatever you need, you just go and take it. You're one of the family, so you don't need my permission to use materials just for dan cultivation," promised him after weighing up the pros and cons for a while.

Dugu Muyou's eyes brightened, "Thank you, Father."

"It's all settled then." He waved at others, tired, "Go back and prepare for the family competition. There are only three days left."

After Madam Liu and her daughters got back, Dugu Qinglan gave Dugu Muyou a bottle of pills.

Dugu Muyou nodded in agreement.

She proposed the condition for a good reason after deep consideration. After reading the books given by her mother, she found something.

The Yuehua Diamond devoured things. She had been feeding it Magical Essences for spiritual qi all the time. However, the Magical Essence was not inexhaustible. If she didn't do anything, the expense would be huge. As she was thinking about it, the pills came to her mind. So, she ran a test.
