Chapter 26 Looking for a Way out

Hua Qingshui looked at the corner of her mouth and noticed Dugu Muyou's injury, "You're wounded. Let me help you heal."

Dugu Muyou smiled faintly, "I'm fine. It doesn't really matter." Having said that, she took the Magical Essence and let Yuehua Diamond absorb it. Suddenly, she felt there was a warm current flowing inside, and the unsayable comfort made her breathe out slowly.

Hua Qingyue stared blankly at Dugu Muyou and wondered whether she was going to have another breakthrough?

"Did I die?"

Dugu Muyou asked after she opened up her eyes and saw herself lying in an unfamiliar place with a soft quilt under her body. The room was beautifully decorated, and it did not look like something that would exist in Valley of Magical Animals, a place haunted by beasts.

Hearing her voice, Hua Qingyue was so existed, "You woke up!"

Dugu Muyou rubbed her forehead and remembered vaguely the vicious fight with the beast and Nangong Xun's black figure. How did she end up lying here?

She looked at herself in disbelief...

"Hua Qingyue? Why are you here? What is this place?" Dugu Muyou rubbed her forehead, "Right, what is this place?"

Hua Qingyue got confused by her questions, "Muyou, did you forget what happened last night?"

Dugu Muyou blinked her watery eyes, trying to recall what happened yesterday. She asked in disbelief, "Last night? Did you mean I passed out a whole evening?"

Hua Qingyue went completely speechless, "Yes, you had a fierce fight and killed a beast. After that, you passed out and slept until now. You don't remember any of it?"

He wondered to himself, "How come you don't remember it? How can you forget your bravery and prowess yesterday?"

"I remember. Did you think I'm as dumb as you? I just want to know where we are?" Dugu Muyou was wondering how she ended up lying in a bedroom.

"You take a rest. I'll get you a glass of water," said Hua Qingyue smilingly, "It doesn't matter if you don't remember it."

Hua Qingyue went outside and looked at the blood on his dress that belonged to Dugu Muyou. When he held her in his arms yesterday, he was so worried that something bad would happen to her, but she was finally awake!

Hua Qingshui came in after Hua Qingyue went out. Seeing Dugu Muyou was awake, he asked, "Miss Dugu, do you feel uncomfortable?"

Dugu Muyou shook her head, "No, I'm fine. By the way, where is this place? I asked Hua Qingyue, but he did not answer."

Hua Qingshui's complexion went almost as dark as his clothes. He answered, "I don't know exactly what this place is. When we came in, there was nobody. Judging from the complete set of furniture and kitchenware, the owner of this place must be a girl. However, no one is here. We don't know what happened."

Dugu Muyou nodded, "A girl's house? What kind of a girl will live in a place like Valley of Magical Animals? How come she planted so many Xue Linglong? Hua Qingshui, is this girl also from Taoyuan Wonderland, eloping to here?"

Hearing Dugu Muyou's joke, Hua Qingshui did not get angry but responded with a laugh, "You know how to joke around. Finding flowers from Taoyuan Wonderland does not necessarily mean finding people from Taoyuan Wonderland. We are staying here for the time being. Maybe the owner will come back soon."

Dugu Muyou came down from the bed, and her body was basically recovered. She was not fragile and did not need to rest in bed. She asked, "In addition to this, what else did you find? Is this the only household around?"

Hua Qingshui shook his head and said sternly, "Not sure about that. But I am pretty sure that people from Wings of Wind and Water Edge were not far. Both were not far from here. I'm just not sure why the house is located here."

Where were the people from Wings of Wind?

"Did you see them?"

"Yes, I did. I am not sure whether they are from Wings of Wind or Water Edge, but I know they are definitely not from Taoyuan Wonderland. There is no way of knowing whether they are from Honglie Mystery Land or Jinnan Kingdom."

Looking at the ingredients he held in his hands, Dugu Muyou frowned, "Are you sure these are edible?"

Hua Qingyue laughed at her words, "Of course, they are. It's not my first time in the wild looking for food. Anyways, why are you outside? Looking at the flowers?"

Indeed, the rows of Xue Linglong were exquisitely beautiful. They were so breathtakingly beautiful as if a dream had come alive.

"Right. It would be a pity if we did not appreciate the beauty of the flowers." Dugu Muyou pointed at the food held by Hua Qingyue and spoke, "Since you're so good at finding food, you should cook it as well."

Hua Qingyue's complexion darkened, "Seriously? Are you expecting me to cook? I said I know how to find food, but it doesn't mean I can cook. You're putting me in a pickle."

Dugu Muyou stood there with her arms crossed. However, the kitchen was full of smoke already. He failed to ignite the firewood in his hand no matter how hard he tried. The kitchen was filled with a cloud of smoke.

Hua Qingyue could not help coughing, and he shouted inside, "Come and help me. Why do I think cooking is harder than fighting with the beast? Muyou, you're a girl. Don't you know how to cook?"

Dugu Muyou was a bit embarrassed. She did not know whether the Dugu Muyou who lived in this life knew how to cook or not, but it was an indisputable fact that she did not know how to cook. Knowing she would be of no help, she stood there and watched Hua Qingyue struggling inside the kitchen.

Hua Qingyue stared at the firewood, which was about to light but got quenched all of a sudden. At last, he was nearly devastated, "Big brother, do you know how to ignite the wood? I remembered when I was a kid, you were good at lighting woods."

Hua Qingshui was surprised that Hua Qingyue turned to him for help. He replied, "I used spiritual qi to play with fire instead of lighting woods. You can use your spiritual qi to ignite the wood and then cook."

Hearing his suggestion, Hua Qingyue felt he was enlightened and nodded with a smile, "How come I did not think of this idea? I'll give it a shot."

"Hua Qingyue, you should have thought about this method long ago. I just don't get it how come you forgot to use your talent at the critical juncture? Take care."

Being teased by Dugu Muyou, Hua Qingyue felt embarrassed and later he ignited the firewood with spiritual qi surrounding it in a light circle. After a while, a cluster of flames was slowly burning up.

"Okay! Okay!" Hua Qingyue held the torch with excitement and wanted to share the joy with someone, only to find both of them were gone.

He inserted the torch into the oven disappointingly. Looking at the ingredients on the table, he decided to cook the best lunch for Dugu Muyou.

However, the truth was always so cruel. When he came out of the kitchen and put a plate of black stuff on the dining table, both Dugu Muyou and Hua Qingshui asked at the same time, "What is this?"

Hua Qingyue answered with confidence, "Can't you tell that? Mushrooms."

Dugu Muyou frowned at the plate and said, "Are you sure these were the mushrooms you brought with you? Are these not charcoals?"

It was almost a compliment to say they looked like charcoals. As to the flavors, there were no guarantees!

Hua Qingyue sat down discouragingly. Gazing at the plate of black food, he smiled abashedly, "I used an alternative way to cook mushrooms. Don't look down upon the little mushrooms. They are highly nutritional. Come on! Have a bite and see how it tastes. If you like the flavor, then have some more mushrooms."

Dugu Muyou held the chopsticks and looked at Hua Qingshui. Both lacked the courage to have a bite.

"Hua Qingshui, this is made by your own brother. You should try it first." Dugu Muyou goaded Hua Qingshui into eating. However, Hua Qingshui clearly lacked the courage to do so!

"Don't decline out of modesty with one another. Muyou, I made this dish for you. You should taste it first!" Hua Qingyue pushed the dish near her and asked, "Here, have a try if it's good."

Suddenly, Hua Qingshui felt he was somehow liberated, "Miss Dugu, it might taste delicious. You should try it."

Dugu Muyou had no way to turn down the invite. Her chopsticks shook a bit, and she said, "Well... In fact, I am not that hungry. You guys should eat first. You need more nutrition than I do."

"Muyou, have some."

Hua Qingyue gripped a mushroom and put it on her plate, "I guarantee you will like it!"

Dugu Muyou smiled and took a bite.

After lunch, Dugu Muyou swore that she would never ever let Hua Qingyue cook again even if she starved to death!

Standing in the yard and studying the flowers, Dugu Muyou watched him coming in from outside.

Hua Qingshui asked Dugu Muyou, "Why are you standing here?"
