Chapter 30 You're Welcome

Hua Qingyue finished off the enemy and soon ran towards Dugu Muyou. The point of the mercenary's weapon was only an inch away from her.

She turned her head, but only to see it coming. She realized that it was all over, and she was going to die shamefully.

However, before she could say her last words, a black figure flashed before her. Next, she felt she was carried by him gently. The scent that she sniffed made her feel safe.

Looking at the chin of the person, Nangong Xun, she wondered at the sense of safety in his arms, which she had never felt.

Before she could taste the feeling enough, she was put down on the ground. They stopped at a flat place. It was by then that she finally saw his cold eyes.

He had his reason for being angry. In the first place, he didn't think highly of her. And yet he had saved her again and again so far. It embarrassed him.

She then took a step away and said, "Thank you, Nangong Xun."

He, hands clasped behind, stared at her indifferently and said, "Thank me? If you do want so, then you should prove to me that you'll be fine without me." Her bony figure was entirely covered by the huge shadow of his.

Hua Qingyue was not happy seeing Nangong Xun save her. He should've done it instead. Now, seeing them together, he was even more frustrated.

Before she could respond, Nangong Xun darted a look at him, "Your brother's still in the house. How can you ignore that and talk to my girl?"

He stressed the words "my girl", which nettled her. He had said that several times. Was he stupid or anything?

Anyway, this was him. What was his was his. He would claim ownership no matter what happened.

Hua Qingyue sneered, "Don't think she's yours now, Nangong Xun."

He didn't say anything more before he went to the house. Since when had he put her before his brother in his heart?

The house was devastated. No one in it could make it. But he kept telling himself that his brother was okay.

Dugu Muyou took a look at Nangong Xun and said, "I'm fine now. Just go and do your business."

Had Blood Fox not told him that she was in danger, he would not have risked running out of his spiritual power to travel the space.

In the ruins, Hua Qingyue saw his brother. He smiled, "I knew you would be OK."

Hua Qingshui wore a faint smile, "Come and help me."

It was after Hua Qingyue went near that he saw Hu Bijie lying on the ground, covered in blood. "What happened?"

Hua Qingshui frowned and said, "Let's get him out of here. He'll tell us."

It didn't take them much time to save him, who was in a coma because of serious injuries. Seeing three of them coming out of the house, Dugu Muyou shouted, "Brother Hu?"

Hua Qingshui nodded at her, "Are you hurt?"

She shook her head, "No. What happened to him? Is it Zou Quanfu who hurt him?"

He nodded again, "Yes. I've killed him. Let's find a place to heal Brother Hu. His meridians were broken. He can't walk for quite a period."

"OK." She frowned and cursed Zou Quanfu.

Hu Bijie was lifted up and put down on the ground again. He groaned because of it. What a tough guy!

She felt it was worth saving him. He was a veritable man of iron. He would definitely rise again.

"Brother Hu, how do you feel now?" Hu Bijie blinked slowly, trying to say something. However, he was too weak to utter a word.

Hua Qingyue felt his pulse and then frowned, "Zou Quanfu is cruel. It's lucky that he's still alive. But he can't talk for quite a while."

"Son of a b**ch! D*mn!" cursed Dugu Muyou.

Hua Qingyue looked at her, "Wow. I didn't know you can do that. It's cool."

She darted a cold look back, "You have no idea what I can do."

"Stupid girl. Who are you helping this time? Saving his life?" said Blood Fox inside her head. "You should've come earlier. But it's not too late."

Blood Fox was told that there was something awesome, but it realized that she had lied when it saw Hu Bijie. She wanted it to treat him.

"You liar! This is it?" It's just an injured human." It lowered its head with the grievance.

"You're always a nice fox. Come on and check his injury. Is there any way to let him recover faster?" coaxed Dugu Muyou.

"So this is what you want? Oh! I'm so disappointed! I don't want to be a nice fox. Have you ever seen one?"

She frowned and wondered since when it had become so smart. Was it because of Nangong Xun? Had he trained it into an "Einstein fox" these days?

"Just have a look. I won't let you do it for nothing. How is that?" She had to promise it something, which was needful when it was unhappy.

It was lightened up soon, "You promise?"

"Of course! I do what I say! Just do it."

It walked to Hu Bijie and had a check, "Stupid girl, whoever did this is cruel!"

Hearing that, Hua Qingshui frowned and Hua Qingyue turned to look at it.

"How is it? Can you save him?" asked Dugu Muyou.

Feeling being despised, it pursed its lips, "Did you just doubt me again? Of course, I can save him, but it's a little complicated."

"Complicated? How?" She didn't understand it, feeling being underestimated.

"It's real. I don't want to explain it to you. But he looks tough, so he'll recover faster."

"That's good! You carry a lot. Do it right!"

Blood Fox didn't say another word, only pouting its lips.

Next, they took Hu Bijie to Xue Linglong's cabin. Blood Fox cleaned the wounds while Dugu Muyou waited and watched.

"Stupid girl, at least you should do something. Go and find some food."

She looked at it with discontent, "Don't call me that. I don't like it."

Blood Fox tilted its head and thought about it, "Fine." A few moments later, it added, "If your action is smarter, maybe I will change that."

Hearing that, she went out to boil water, disgruntled.

Hua Qingyue darted a glance at it and said, "If you don't like her, then why did you choose her as the girl of your Lord?"

It shook its paws, "Alas. You're right. It's all on me. I should've been more careful. But there's no going back. This stupid girl belongs to my Lord now. So you'd better quit this game."

He raised his eyebrows and kept treating Hu Bijie.

The Soul-Mending Herb started to work at the wounds. Hu Bijie was just a human. He couldn't take the heat.

"Is this okay? He won't survive the heat," reminded Hua Qingshui.

With these words, it went out leisurely to look for Dugu Muyou, leaving Hua Qingyue and Hua Qingshui looking at each other blankly. Hua Qingyue felt being coaxed by it.

Hu Bijie forced a smile, "She was kind and would never wrangle with me." Realizing that he might sound a little petty-minded, he said, "You can stay here these days. It's kind of comfort to her."

The next day, he felt basically recovered. He thanked them again and told them that he had to go back for some internal affairs.

"You're welcome, Brother Hu. You're famous among mercenaries. We respect you. It's our pleasure to help you. So, just let it go," said Dugu Muyou with a smile. She learned from what she had been through these days that a generous and decent man was worth cherishing.
