Chapter 15 Saved Her Again

742 Words
Dugu Muyou huddled on the ground quietly at the western edge of the center of the Valley of Magical Animals. In her crossed arms was a tiny creature, which squirmed slightly but failed to free itself. "A foolish girl. That was stupid." The voice was weak. It was the Blood Fox, wearing a smile out of both mockery and appreciation. At the place near Dugu Muyou appeared a black shadow out of nowhere. He checked the place soon with the cold eyes and found her on the ground, not moving at all. "What happened?" It was Nangong Xun. He traveled through space and followed the Qi of Blood Fox, only to see a scene that caught him on the hop. Blood Fox squeezed its little head through her arms and said timidly, "She was like this because she was trying to save me. What a foolish girl." It sounded like that it was proud of her. It selected this "foolish girl" itself, which turned out to be a right choice. Nangong Xun bent his knees in front of Dugu Muyou and supported her up. She was in a deep coma, but the arms were still well folded, protecting Blood Fox from any danger. "Save you?" Sensing the change of his tone, Blood Fox knew he was going to fly into a temper. So, at once it defended, "I saved her first." Blood Fox then told him everything. Realizing that she had almost died for a man that she just knew, he half-closed his eyes. "Good. Very good." He was irritated. Though he didn't know why, the very thought of her saving others at the risk of life really upset him. Had Blood Fox not buffered the attack, she would have been dead by now. It was good that she had been taught a lesson, or she would keep doing so next time. He sensed the Qi around and found a sub-super spirit animal, which might have something to do with the black wind. However, if Blood Fox was telling the truth, she could have been able to fight against it with the help of the other two. Moreover, there were other people in this place except for the three of them. "She's lucky to be alive. I didn't expect her to be so vulnerable." He sounded so mean and overbearing, but then he took out a red pill and split it into two. He held her head, forced her to open the mouth, and put the pills into it. "You do indulge her, Lord. This is the Pill of Soul-Mending," said Blood Fox with envy. It had been hurt so much and exhausted the Spiritual qi it had gathered these days only to save his woman, but he didn't say anything about it, not to mention the pill. How could he just give her a half pill? As Nangong Xun darted a glance at it, it shut up immediately and wore a look of innocence, covering itself with the tail. "Take good care of her, and let me know if anything happens. I'm going back now." Because of forcibly traveling through space twice, his body was already surrounded by an aura of water color. He had to go back to the Bishui Palace now. Blood Fox didn't dare to say a word. Seeing him disappearing, it wanted to ask for the pill, but no voice was heard from the slightly opened lips. After he was gone, Blood Fox turned its head, staring at Dugu Muyou's lips, where some residues of the pill remained. The pill was quite precious. Only a small piece of it could make things totally different. Finally, Blood Fox failed to resist the temptation and licked her lips swiftly. Before it could really taste the pill, a tiny flash of lightning struck it accurately. It let out a scream and jumped to the air, with the fur all standing up. "Don't do that again. Or I don't mind having a barbecue next time." Blood Fox was about to rampage. However, hearing the indifferent voice of Nangong Xun, it cooled down immediately. Blood Fox lay on the ground, ignored the fur thing, and said, "I just didn't want to waste some of the pills. That's all." The voice was gone, but Blood Fox stayed still on the ground and didn't dare to stand up. The erected fur made him look terrible, but it had no time to tidy its fur.
