A hidden passage. Since when did this exist? The stone slid open, revealing a narrow staircase leading down into darkness. Without hesitation, she stepped inside. The wall closed behind her. For a moment, I just stood there, frozen. My mind was racing. Should I go back? What if this is dangerous? What if she catches me? But another thought pushed through. What if this is the truth? That was enough. I stepped forward slowly and carefully. I placed my hand on the same panel she touched. My fingers trembled. “Please work,” I whispered. I pressed.
