Ryder didn’t say a word.
He just walked straight toward me.
Before I could even process what was happening, he took my hand gently but firmly, his grip warm, grounding, and pulled me along with him toward the bed.
Toward his father.
My heart started beating faster again.
Everything still felt unreal.
“I always wanted to introduce you to my dad, baby girl,” Ryder said softly, his eyes locking into mine.
I couldn’t respond.
I just stared at him.
Speechless.
There were a thousand questions in my head, a thousand emotions fighting inside me, but none of them could form into words.
He led me to the chair beside the bed and sat down. Then, without hesitation, he pulled me gently onto his lap, holding me close like he needed me there.
Like I was the only thing keeping him steady.
