Chapter 5 - BOSS

“I’m sorry for hugging you all of a sudden, I’m just very glad.” She sighed “really I am.” Jessy smiled.

“So, stop crying if you are really glad.” Liam teased.

Jessy smiled while nodding and wiped her tears. They stayed at the balcony for a bit longer and eventually they head back inside. Liam went down, to get Jessy’s luggage as she familiarized herself in the 2nd floor.

“Here’s your things and make yourself at home.” He smiled at her “Have some good rest, you had a very long day today. Give me your phone, ill type in my number, you can call or text me in case you need anything.”

Jessy then took her phone and handed it to Liam, he then saved his number and the passcode of the suite, Jessy also gave her number to Liam. He then bid his farewell and Jessy was left alone in the very big suite.

Jessy walked around the place for a while. She appreciated everything that was there, “this place seems to be very well maintained, no signs of dusting or rust. Maybe he hired someone to clean this place often.” Jessy felt hungry and when she opened the fridge it was empty. “Damn, I forgot nobody leaved here before, silly me. I should grab some grocery tomorrow.”

Jessy felt sleepy while looking around the big place. Her eyes became so heavy and the memories of the events a while ago started to come back. Jacob cheating on him, Jacob having a fiancé felt surreal. Her heart started to pound fast as if it’s about to burst. She lay in bed, and eventually cried herself to sleep.

Not long after leaving Jessy, Liam arrived at his pad. It is smaller than the suite where Jessy stayed, but it’s simple and elegant decorated in Natural colors. It’s a 1-bedroom pad but with enough space to move around. It doesn’t have much things but fully equipped for cooking and entertainment.

He immediately went to his mini bar, got a drink and sat on the couch. He thought of what had happened a while ago, he thought of how Jessy suffered today. “How can Auntie, think of her when she barely knows Auntie.” Liam talked to himself as he sipped through his glass. He closed his eyes and leaned on the couch, after a moment he stood up and went to his bedroom to change and lay in his bed.

While lying down, Liam had a crazy thought “Is she the one that Auntie wants me to meet for a long time already? Well, whatever it is I’ll find out soon. Jessy seems to be a nice lady.” Liam smiled as he slumbers himself to sleep.

The next day, Jessy was awakened by the sound of her phone. She knows that Jacob was the one calling since she designated a special ringtone for Jacob. She didn’t want to answer but her phone won’t stop ringing. Jessy finally answered. “What do you want?”

“Where are you? I’ve been trying to reach you last night but your phone was off.” Jacob paused as he rubbed his temples. “Jess, please come home. Let’s talk”

“Home? Are you kidding me? that’s not my home anymore. Can you just leave me alone?! Stop pestering me!” Then Jessy cancelled the call and immediately blocked Jacob’s number.

Jessy then looked blankly at the ceiling as she lay herself back to bed. All the hurt and ache she felt in her heart was so deep that she doesn’t know any more if it was because of Jacob or because of what had happened to her life the past few months. She cried so hard and sobbed, until her eyes were red and swollen.

Suddenly her phone rang again, “how can he call me again, when I blocked his number already?” she then picked up the phone and saw the caller ID and it was Liam.

“Hi, good morning” Jessy said while forcing herself with a smile.

“You don’t have to fake it. Why would you cry early in the morning? I thought you were still asleep” Liam teased.

“Well, some unwanted person called and bothered. I forgot to block his number” Jessy sighed deeply.

Concerned, Liam asked. “What do you want to eat? I’ll bring you some food I forgot there is no food there. You must be starving.”

“Oh, it’s okay, thanks Liam. I’ll just go out later and grab some food.”

“I’m already on my way. What do you want?”

“You really don’t have to.”

“I insist”. Liam said calmly.

“Okay.” Jessy paused, “anything will do.”

“Be there in 20 minutes, bye.” then Liam hang up.

Jessy was quite amazed how he can still care for her, when he barely knows her. “What does he even want in return?” Jessy thought. “Oh no no no. I don’t think he is even like that. I must be overreacting again” Jessy faintly laughed and headed to wash and change in new set of clothes. Jessy tied her hair up as she wore a light pink pair of loose semi midriff shirt and shorts exposing her long legs.

Not long after Liam arrived at the suite with some foods. He rang the doorbell and Jessy immediately opened the door. Liam was dumbfounded to see her in casual clothes and all tidied up.

“This Lady is prettier than I thought” Liam sheepishly thought.

Jessy broke his thoughts as she gave him a sweet smile “Hi! Why did you ring the doorbell? You can open it; this is your home.”

“Yes, this is mine, but you are the one leaving here of course I still respect your privacy.” Liam answered as they both went inside. Liam placed the food on the table as Jessy prepared the food. Liam bought a lot and most of it were of Jessy’s likings.

“Wow! Why did you buy a lot?” Jessy exclaimed.

“Well, you won’t tell me what you want so I bought a lot” as he gestured for Jessy to sit down.

“I’m quite impressed that your guess is quite accurate since I like most of it.” Jessy said as she sat down and Liam sat beside her.

What Jessy didn’t know is that Liam went to Auntie’s shop and she was the one who prepared all these foods. They peacefully ate while they chatted a little about their family and their life. How old they were when their parents died. Where they studied and alike.

After eating Jessy kept some of the foods while Liam helped him clean the table. Then Liam’s phone rang, when he saw the caller ID his brows frowned.

“What do you want” Liam asked coldly “Okay I’ll be there in a while.” Then Liam turned to Jessy and spoke.

“I need to go to the office now, I forgot I have a lunch meeting.” Liam laughed.

“I’m sorry, did I disturb you? You shouldn’t have come here. look you’re already late.” Jessy said feeling sorry.

Liam laughed. “Don’t be, I wanted to come here.” He smiled “besides I’m the boss so they have to wait for me.” he answered in a domineering tone.

Jessy was lost in words hearing Liam’s answer. After a while she regained herself and asked “Boss?”

“Yes” Liam laughed and prepared himself to leave.

“Will you be okay here?” Liam asked, as he reached for the door handle.

“Yes, thank you”

“Good. I’ll see you later then.” Liam answered and left hurriedly.
