Chapter 4 - EMBRACE OF HAPPINESS

“Who are you, what do you even do?” she asked in a trembling voice, “do you do illegal stuffs? Please spare me, I don’t want to be involved!”

Liam burst into laughter as he stopped from walking. He looked at Jessy who was trembling.

“Stop Laughing! I’m serious” as she punched Liam’s arm.

“Don’t worry I’m clean.” He smiled. “The staff and people here can vouch for me. I do a decent job for a living. Besides you can’t own a unit here w/o them doing background check on you.”

Then Liam pulled Jessy as they continue to walk inside. Jessy was still a bit shock of Liam’s answer. She thought how on earth she could have met someone like him. Does Auntie even know who he is, or does auntie just cared for her a lot that she asked this man to accompany her. Jessy’s mind was in a complete shock.

As they went inside, Jessy was mesmerized by the entrance that met her. The place was so bright; a big chandelier hangs from the top. The place was ornamented with gold and white. The lobby itself was very simple yet extravagant.

They both then slowly approached the concierge situated at the side of the lobby.

“Good evening, Sir Liam” The attendant greeted him politely. “Do you wish to stay in your suite again?”

“Again?” Jessy thought, “it must be true that he did not live here anymore.”

“Not me. I have a friend here whom I wish to stay in my suite. Since I am not using it anymore, it’s such a waste that no one is staying there. I hope the management won’t mind.” Liam answered firmly, with no expression that can be seen.

“Not a problem at all sir, you are the biggest shareholder of this place so the management’s approval is not necessary.” The attendant answered him.

Jessy was completely in daze hearing the conversation she just witnessed.

“So, it’s settled. No need to call for an attendant, I’ll accompany my guest on my own.” As he immediately took Jessy’s hand and walked towards the lift.

He then paused and said, “By the way, please treat Ms. Jessy here as if she is me.” then they continued to walk.

Liam’s suite was on the 21st floor, the entire elevator ride was actually very fast but it seems like forever for Jessy. When they arrived at the 21st floor, there was only 1 door that can be seen and he brought me into the front of the door. He then typed in his passcode and opened the door.

He then dragged her inside. “Welcome to my humble abode.” He looked at Jessy smiling.

“Thi... this is your suite?” Jessy swallowed a big lump in her throat. “it’s so huge, this is even bigger than our home before.”

Liam just nodded.

The suite is a 2 floored room. On the left side of the 1st floor is the huge modern type kitchen and a 10-seater dining table. While on the right side is more like an entertainment area than a living room, and at the far back is a mini game area with a glass wall, with the city as the view.

Jessy then ran into the glass window looking at the view outside. “Wow, you have a very nice place. This is like a man cave that any other man would love.” Jessy giggled as her eyes brighten.

“Thank you.” Liam smiled. “If you really like the view there, then I am sure you will love the view from up there” as he pointed at the 2nd floor.

He then grabbed her hands and led her to the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor has no doors, just a bedroom a huge walk-in closet, a bathroom, a study area and a big balcony on the outside. The view from the balcony is breath taking. It’s the city lights and at the very far back is the ocean near the Bay Beach.

“Well, this, this is really lovely.” Jessy smiled, as if no words can express what she is feeling at the moment.

“You have such a nice place; I mean if I’m a man I would totally love to live here. Have parties bring some friends, you know man stuff.” Jessy laughed

“Well, I am more of an introvert” Liam answered laughing. “My parents actually bought this place for me, they wanted everything best for me. But I actually don’t like it here much. It makes me feel lonely.” He looked at the beach from afar.

“Ohh... are you sure you want me to stay here? I mean what if your girlfriend, fiancé or wife might find out? She might get it wrongly.”

Liam then laughed hard “Well actually, I don’t have any of those. And I’m not seeing anyone.” He then glanced at Jessy.

“Well, that’s a relief at least that matter is cleared. But how am I supposed to pay you rent? I still don’t have a job now and even if I have, I think I can’t afford it.”

“Don’t worry about that, you don’t have to. Since Auntie has known you and asked me to look for you then I think you’re a nice person as well.” He paused “no need to pay me, at least Auntie will not t*****e me with her nagging if she finds out I left you in a whatsoever place.”

“Promise, I will take care of this place and as soon as I get a job and a new decent place to stay then, I will immediately leave” Jessy then answered firmly.

“No rush, just take your time.” he smiled sweetly.

Out of happiness Jessy then, jumped into Liam and wrapped him with her tight embrace “Thank you so much, I really don’t know how to repay you. I am not even sure why I trusted you, but I thanked God and Auntie that you agreed to Auntie’s request and you came” tears suddenly left her eyes.

Liam, then gently pushed his self away from her embrace and looked at her “I just don’t get it why you cry so easily” while wiping her tears. “Next time don’t thank me, but today you are welcome.” He smiled.
