It was already late dawn when Liam asked Jessy to rest as he headed home.
On the way home Liam called Jack and asked him to check all his company if by any chance Jessy did sent an application to any of them. If so, all data must be sent to him from the position Jessy wish to apply, down to all her credentials.
Just as Liam arrived home, Jack informed him that all the details have been emailed to him already. Despite the wee hours of the night, Jack would always make sure to cater for all of Liam's request so not to anger him, especially it's about Jessy. He knows it is important to Liam.
Back at the Hyatt Residence Jessy was already fast asleep, tired from the previous sleepless nights.
Liam on the other hand was still busy going through some document he needs to review and sign before he goes on his business trip. He finally opened Jack's email and scanned through Jessy's portfolio, checking all possible position that would fit her.
While looking at Jessy's file, he can’t seem to get her off his mind. He felt so helpless, he seems to miss her already, so he ended up getting his phone. He browsed at some stolen photos of her which he took. He can’t help but smile seeing her pretty face as his heart started to beat for her.
The past days, Liam have been very busy with his work, while Jessy on the other hand was seriously doing her job hunting.
It has been very quiet for Jessy during those days, since nobody knew about her new number, she avoided social media as much as possible and most of the days she is just stuck at the suite since she doesn’t have anywhere else to go. But despite that, she wasn’t bored at all because Liam often bring his work there to accompany Jessy and even if both are doing separate things but the presence of each other makes the other one complete and at peace. If there are days when his presence is necessary at his company, he would never forget to check on Jessy, either he drops by after work or calls her.
As the days went by, both Liam and Jessy became very close to each other. Sensing a stronger connection to one another.
One afternoon as Jessy was browsing her email, she got a call from Liam.
“Hi!” Jessy answered excitedly
“Looks like you’re in good mood today.”
“Yes, I am. I have been in a good mood lately actually, thanks to you.” Jessy laughed.
“I'm glad you are, because I’m taking you out for dinner later. You’ve been stuck there for sometime already, I’m afraid you might forget what the outside world would look like.” Liam teased as he was laughing.
“How obnoxious! I can actually see the city from where I am right now! You must be tired of my cooking.” Jessy said faking a sad tone as she smirk behind the phone.
“I actually love your cooking, but I also want to take you out tonight. So, i'll see you in a while okay? I’ll pick you up after I’m done here in the office.” Liam answered and then immediately hang up.
“Huh! He didn’t even hear my answer! That guy can be so demanding sometimes!” Jessy sneered and got up from where she was sitting and headed upstairs.
She browsed through her clothes but couldn’t choose what to wear. Jessy might have a designing background but Jacob never allowed her to choose her clothes, the reason why she got very dependent on him.
She rummage through her luggage and found a dress that she secretly bought because she really liked it but wasn’t able to wear it, since Jacob didn’t like her wearing dresses. She took it out from the pouch and gave it a long look.
“Will Liam be able to like this?” she sighed as she placed it on top of her body while looking at the mirrow. “Well, i'll never know unless he see's me wearing this."
She placed down the dress on top of her bed nd immediately washed up. After which, she placed a very light make-up and changed into the knee length red pouf dress that she wanted to wear for a long time already. She tied her hair up to make it look a bit casual and not to formal and paired it with a white kitten heeled shoe.
Just as she finished preparing, she heard the doorbell rang, and immediately ran downstairs.
When she opened the door, she saw Liam wearing a dark blue suit that matches perfectly with his blue eyes. Liam was stunned seeing Jessy all dressed up, his eyes widdened and was lost for words.
“Is it too formal? Should I go change?” Jessy asked nervously.
“Not at all. Honestly, it suits you very well.” Liam smiled. “You look more beautiful.”
Jessy was stunned by what he said and blushed immediately. “I'm actually not sure if I look good on dresses. You know... he…uhmm... didn’t allow me to wear dresses, he finds it too revealing. That’s why I’m used to wearing pants and skirts.” Jessy bowed her head feeling ashamed with what she has experienced.
Liam then raised her chin and said. “He just actually lost a treasure. You are very beautiful Jessy.”
“Thank you.” Jessy smiled shyly. “I don’t normally hear such compliments actually.”
“Get used to it, since you’ll hear a lot of it from now on. Also wear clothes you like, learn to choose how you want to be.” Liam smiled and gestured Jessy to place her hands around his arms.
They then headed for the lift, when they reached the lobby the staffs and some guests were in awe seeing them together. They were a perfect couple from the point of view of the people who saw them.
Liam then assisted Jessy to get in and they drove to a restaurant by the sea. It was already a bit late when they arrive so there were a few couple of people in the place already. But Liam already made an earlier reservation for both of them, so they got the best location.
He specifically requested the Oriental Cabin, it’s a private room outside the restaurant situated just above the sea. Liam held Jessy’s hand while traversing the mini bridge that connects the main restaurant and cabin. When they arrived inside, it was peaceful and beautiful. The attendant then handed them the menu, but Jessy asked Liam to order in her behalf. Liam browsed the menu and immediately made an order.
“I hope you like the place, I chose this for you.”
“Yes. Actually…” Jessy paused and smiled. “The sea, the ocean. It helps me calm down. Helps me think.”
“I know that’s why I chose this place.” He paused and smiled “I just noticed that you like everything nature around you, so much. That's why I chose this restaurant. Makes you much more closer to the sea, you can even hear the sound of the small waves."
Jessy smiled and felt a bit shy. “Do you somehow find it weird?”
“Not at all, it’s actually nice to know someone who is so passionate and dedicated.” Liam smiled.
Jessy blushed and looked away as she enjoyed the scenery and peacefulness of the place. Not long after, dishes were finally served. Most of the dishes were new to Jessy but since she’s been starving, in her eyes all those looks delicious.
Liam got some shrimps, peeled it and gave it to Jessy with some vegetables. “’I’m actually not sure if you like these foods, just try it and if you don’t like it tell me and we will order something else.” As he continued to get a few of the different dishes and gave it to Jessy.
Jessy nodded and started to eat, so as Liam.
“It actually tastes really good.” Jessy smiled “I mean, it’s not that I don’t like the foods you like, it’s just that I didn’t have the luxury of trying out new foods. It’s either I don’t have that extra or...” Jessy paused and stopped.
“Or he orders food for both of you without asking what you want?”
“Sort of. He also doesn't bring me to places like this, he finds it impractical." Jessy paused and sighed. "How did you know?”
“I can see it, because every time we eat out you always ask me to order and when I ask you what you want you always give me that blank look." Liam laughed.
“Oh... is it really that obvious?” Jessy then realized how controlling Jacob was to her for so many years and she didn’t even notice, she was so busy loving and supporting the wrong man.
“Yes. But we'll change that. So, the next time we eat out you choose for both of us. Okay?” he smiled.
“But you’ll help out, right?”
“We will see” he teased.
After a while, they finally finished eating. Liam then asked Jessy to accompany him to an open area just outside the Oriental Cabin. It's like a balcony, with the perfect view of the calm sea as the moon shines brightly up above them.
Liam had planned far long and waited for this day. He thought all this out and finally decided to tell her.
“Remember about the business trip I told you weeks ago? I'm leaving tomorrow for that trip.” Liam told her while looking at the sea.
“Oh, it’s tomorrow already? Okay, have a safe trip then.” Jessy paused and sadness suddenly surrounded her heart. It will be the 1st time, she won’t be seeing him for a couple of days, weeks maybe or probably even months. The thought of it scares her actually. She then had a feeling of missing him, even if he is still beside her. “Uhm. When will you be back?”
“I’ll be back in a week or in 2 weeks’ time, depending on how fast the issue will be resolved there.”
Jessy just looked afar, lost in her thoughts. "Two weeks is not that bad I guess." She thought.
Liam suddenly broke the silence. "Jessy, will you give me the chance to take care of you?” As Liam looked at Jessy eyes and held her hand. “I know I’ve been telling you that since the day I saw you, but I haven’t really asked you.”
Jessy’s heart was pounding very fast as if its wanting to explode. She can feel her face getting hot as she blushed like a red tomato by the way Liam looks at her and what Liam just asked her.
"Will you give me that opportunity to show to you how much I want to care and protect you Jessy?"
