I laughed.
"This isn't something we would even be able to pull off," I teased her.
As if remembering something, she paused.
"What is it?" I asked, staring at her worried face.
"I think I left my anklet in Gina's room when we went there last night to look for the bracelet,'' she said.
I gave her a reassuring smile.
"I am very sure you didn't lose it there. Gina would have shown it to me and probably threatened me, thinking it's mine," I scoffed, lying through my teeth.
"Yeah. I don't want to make things harder for you. It seems like you're getting in a lot of trouble lately, and it wouldn't be nice if I added to your misery," she whined, her face contorting in a way that drew sympathy.
