Seraphine's pov. I felt the blood in my veins run dry as he spoke. I stood frozen, wanting the ground to open and probably swallow me. I slowly started turning around, but his palm held me roughly in place. "Don't move till I say so," he commanded, his voice icy cold. "I'm sorry, your highness. I lost track of time and must have eaten slowly," I defended, trying to weave my way out of this mess I had created. "Follow me," he said, letting go of my shoulder and turning around.
