Despite my intense fatigue, my body decided that 8 a.m. was the latest it was going to tolerate being prone. My hips ached, and my bladder screamed . . . so I got up. Much to my surprise, I was actually the first one awake. I expected that most of the team had been up quite late strategizing, and I was glad that Beattie had slept in, too. For her sake, but also because I appreciate the chance for some alone time. As I made coffee and poured myself the largest mug I could find, I realized that some of my exhaustion was just an overload of people. I was an introvert who was good at being an extrovert, but I needed time by myself to recharge, so this morning, I was going to make the most of that time. I scanned the bookshelves in the living room, hoping to find something light to read. But
