Selina’s POV
I spent the next two hours in my room trying to make it happen again.
That thing I’d done when I sent everyone away. When I’d screamed at them to leave, and they’d just… vanished. Teleported across miles in an instant because I’d willed it to happen.
I wanted to do it again. Needed to understand how it worked.
I started small. I tried to make myself disappear and reappear across the room. Closed my eyes and visualized being by the window instead of by the door.
Nothing happened. I opened my eyes to find myself in exactly the same spot.
“Okay, maybe not myself,” I muttered. “Something else.”
I focused on a pillow on my bed. Imagined it vanishing and reappearing on my desk chair.
