I fell asleep again with Aaron in my arm. But when I opened my eyes I opened them to darkness.
Not the comfortable darkness of a room at night, but something deeper. Like I’d been swallowed by the void itself.
My heart raced as I tried to put myself together. Where was I? How did I get here?

The voice was distant, whisper-soft, but it cut through the darkness like a beacon.
