Selina’s POV The cabin was quiet that night. I lay between Aaron and Alex, their steady breathing a comforting rhythm in the darkness. Ashran was somewhere in the living room. But something felt different tonight. I couldn’t explain it. My eyes opened. The room was dark except for the pale moonlight filtering through the curtains. Everything looked normal. But that feeling wouldn’t go away. Carefully, I extracted myself from between my mates, moving slowly so I wouldn’t wake them. Aaron mumbled something in his sleep and reached for me, but Alex unconsciously pulled him closer, and they settled back into a deep sleep.
