Selina’s POV
“Then whose mark is this? Did my brothers touch you?”
The question hung in the air like a blade.
My thumb rested lightly on her lip, I was barely touching her, and yet I could feel the heat beneath my skin.
Her bright eyes darted between my face and my raised hand. She flinched as if I was planning to hit her. waiting for the blow.
And suddenly, the truth hit me.
Her fear. My possessive fury melted into something else…as realization and more pain than I have ever felt hit me.
I let my hand drop immediately.
A wave of sadness flooded me through the bond, raw and unrelenting, twisting my chest and making it hard to breathe.
“Selina, I…”
Her name caught in my throat as Kira’s voice sliced through the hallway like a blade.
