Alex’s POV
I couldn’t stop watching her.
Selina sat across from me, finally eating. Actually putting food in her mouth and chewing, which was more than she’d done for the past hour.
But even now, she looked… off. Distant. Her eyes kept drifting toward the tree line like she expected something to come crawling out of the shadows.
Whatever had happened earlier in those woods had rattled her badly.
My chest tightened watching her like this. It made my wolf restless, pacing inside me with that annoying protective instinct that kept getting stronger every damn day.
This mate bond thing was seriously f*****g with my head.
A few days ago, watching her squirm would’ve been entertainment. Now? Now it just made me want to find whatever had scared her and rip it apart with my bare hands.
