Though I wasn’t happy about Dennis’ ex showing up at the Solstice party, I was happy about his reaction. He didn’t love her, he didn’t want her, and he made sure she understood that. I didn’t mind leaving the party early so we could finish up the stuff for our bonding ceremony.
It wouldn’t be as long and as grand as a wedding, but it would be slightly wedding-like. There would be a ceremony, then food, and a little time to chat. Since it was a weeknight, none of the humans could stay terribly late. That gave Dennis and me practically the whole night together.
