oh merlin

A few seconds later, the shadow decided to let go of me and be on its way so I found myself falling in a well man's arms. The man pulled me to a seat and placed my head in his lap. His cool fingers touched my face. I didn't know who he was but I could recognise something light and bright in his look. Was it his eyes? Or was it simply his aura? I blinked again, hoping I could recognise him after that. The more I tried, however, the more difficult it was to focus. Soon even the light became dark and my eyes closed to rest.                           * * *                           "rosae... rosae! rosae, can you hear me?" I heard Luna's worried voice. I half-opened my eyes and looked at her sweet face.                           "L-Luna...?" I said slowly. When I opened my eyes properly, I saw almost the whole carriage standing above me. I was not in the man's hands anymore. I was lying in my seat. "What happened? What was that thing?"                           "That was a Dementor." A man was sitting next to me holding my hand. He was tall with light brown hair and a little mustache. "They were here to search for Sirius Black." I remember reading about Sirius Black in the Daily Prophet. He was a killer who escaped from Azkaban - one of the only ones in history to manage it.                           "What would he want in the Hogwarts Express."                           "The Dementors are supposed to look everywhere. I'm Professor Lupin, I'll be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts this year. Eat this; it will help," he said and gave me a small piece of chocolate.                           "I'm really not hungry." As always...                           "No, it's not about hunger, it helps you not to faint again. Now, I am afraid I must leave. I really have to talk with the driver; we had two faints this night, we must do something about it."  "Two faints? Who else has fainted?" asked a boy who was sitting nearby.                           "Harry Potter," answered the Professor. All the students reacted with surprise, whispers spread to the carriage. "Now you all go back to your seats. We will soon be arriving at Hogwarts. And please, keep this. Try to eat as much as you can," he said, turning to me and giving me the whole chocolate.                            "Thank you, sir," I said and managed to muster a smile, a weak one but still a smile.                           Even if he should have been gone now, Professor Lupin stood above me and stared at me. What was he looking at? A moment ago he was in a hurry to talk to the driver. "Do I know you? What's your name?"                           "rosae periwel," I answered and it was the first time I had noticed his face. Come to think of it he reminded me of someone, too.                           "Are you sure?"                           "Am I sure about my name?" I cringed.                           "Oh..." he said as I made a face. "That was really odd," he admitted. "But is it your full name?"                           "rosae is short for rosaena," I answered.                           "rosaena..." he muttered with a lost expression. "I am terribly sorry. I thought we'd met before," he said quickly, half-closing his eyes.                           "I would remember," I answered but I wasn't entirely sure about my answer.                           "You look so much like a woman I once knew..." he said and looked down at me with sad eyes. "Eat. It really helps," he said before leaving but by the time I saw him getting out of the carriage, I left the chocolate on the table right next to me. Everyone sat down and Luna touched my hand.                           "Merlin's beard, you're cold as ice. You haven't eaten anything all day," she took a look at my tiny, skinny hands. "You must have lost a lot of weight, you know and I don't want you to become anorexic."                           "I won't. I never ate much... Can you tell me exactly what happened?" I said changing the subject.                           "Well, after the Dementor's attack you fainted. We tried to make you come back but we couldn't. And then Professor Lupin came in and he helped you," she explained but I knew there was something she was hiding.                           "I think I fell into someone's hands. Who held me?"                           She looked around to make sure that no one was looking. "Draco did," she whispered.                           I couldn't believe it at first but Luna seemed steady. At once, I turned to look at him when I realized that he was looking back. He didn't smile or anything but I could tell that there was no hate in his eyes as there usually was.                           "You serious?" I asked with my eyes opening wider. She silently nodded. "And did anybody else... pass out?"                           "No, but I... felt so bad... Like I had lost any meaning in life..." There was a long pause after that and Luna held my hand tightly. For a few long minutes I was trying not to look around me but outside the window, partly afraid to look opposite me. Then Luna sang to me. "He's looking at you."                           "He is not." I kept my eyes down, not daring to look Draco back because I would blush, if I hadn't blushed yet.                            There was no reason why he would hold me not to fall, no reason at all. I was the one who probably fell on his feet and he had to move me if he wanted to get away from me. I was pretty sure that is what happened. Otherwise, why would he hold a filthy "mudblood" who he had spent so much time tormenting and would probably be better off in the ground according to him? -
