Who are you?

1406 Words
After basically being dragged by the hall monitor I was finally in the place I was supposed to be in. I saw a totally different group of people- my type of people. These guys were wearing the same symbol as I, my nerves finally settled.  I walk in sheeply, my head poking in before the rest of me, no-one looked at me which was different than the high school in Michigan. The teacher finally addresses me, his full beard intimidates me because I have no idea what germ or nastiness is hiding in there.  "Ah, welcome Alannah Macquoid to class 6C. We're happy you're here, your seat will be next to Cerina annabella, grade 12. What is this guy robotic, I don't need her information, just my seat. I walk around the silent men and pull my chair out and seat myself in the rounded chair. I put my things down next to me and pull out a notebook.  In this class, we were learning about the british war that happened with the colonials also known as, America. Boring as all hell but still rewarding, his english accent didn't suit him at all, he sounded formal but he looked like he was struggling in life; I assume he is just like the uber driver I met before he dropped me off in the airport; they both don't want to be doing their job, they're just here to support a struggling family- wait, he seems like a single father, he has no wedding ring and his clothes are poorly put together.  *Bell rings*  "Class dismissed, remember to bring your english textbooks next class. Enjoy lunch! Off you go you Rabid creatures." Everyone quickly got up and leaves the room in a single file line.  What the f**k kind of board school is this? Are these kids brainwashed? "Hey, Alannah right?" Someone says grabbing my shoulder, I turn around and see a girl with a super cute bob cut, tapered almost perfectly. She's surprisingly shorter than me, I thought I was the shortest one here thank god.  "Uh, yes. You are?"  "I am your seat neighbor; Cerina Annabella, We'll be partners for the rest of the year. I just wanted to ask for your friendship in this dark and gloomy time." Uh, da fuk? This woman is- "Oh my god, did I sound close enough to these brain washed fools?" She holds her hand over her mouth to stop the upcoming laughter. I like her, this could work. "None of us are truly this way, we have to act like these perfect persons when really we just want to be people. In order for us to escape the torturous ways of this school we act until lunch time when one of the students from 'Level D' alters the cameras and we get to act like ourselves for an hour or so." Wow, that's a handful of information.  "So, Alannah-" She stops in the hallway and looks at me with her bug eyed-eyes and places her hands on my shoulders,  "Would you like to come and join our rebellion?" She smiles. I'm in. I nod my head, we slowly follow the single file line into the lunch room until the gates behind us close and the curtain is drawn. I turn around and open my mouth as if I was going to speak but Cerina puts her index finger to her lips and looks down- everyone is looking down, so I follow.  Jeremiah comes down the line with a checklist followed by the dean who is wearing all white. Her hair is curled like a 90's style updo for older woman. The dean is in her mid 60's, her skin flaunting in wrinkles, her makeup is mellow but exadorate. Her eyeshadow is a popping purple with streaks of eyeliner along the eye due to shakiness of the hands, her lips are a defecating red, her aura scares the heck out of me. Why mother did you send me here.  "Ms. Dean, everyone is checked and accounted for."  "Thank you sweet Jeremiah- You remind me so much of my grandbaby. You may go, I shall see you later tonight before dawn."  Everyone keeps their head down- what in the heck is going on- I feel like I'm in some cult about to be fed regurgitation like some bird. When the gate and curtain is risen and dropped back down the noise we hear next is defining.  *SCREECH*  It sounds like nails on a chalkboard, everyone has their hands over their ears including me, it last for about two minutes. When it stops everyone shakes their heads in realization- also trying to hear again.  A lot of the people in the cafeteria just go about their lunch but others start laughing and cheering. All of a sudden Cerina gets up on one of the tables and screams,  "Everyone! I want you all to meet our new student- Alannah Macquoid. Grade 11. Shouldn't we celebrate a new recruiter?" She waits for a reaction, multiple forks dropped onto their trays. I look around and see peoples reaction and by their looks. They haven't seen a new student in years, after three minutes of staring at me people yell and cheer.  "Your the first person to stay this long, last week a girl stayed for 15 minutes, didn't even make it to first period. I was the last person to show up here, thought I was going to be the last too. No one thought there was going to be another. " This is going to be a long, long, two years.  Finally, it was night. The school day is over, I plump on my bed, in my lace garments and all. My body is practically begging for a hot bath, all I want is to sleep for several days, today was extremely eventful. I slowly get up and grab a bath robe and my essentials for bathing. This place doesn't like having private bathrooms due to issues with depression and self harm. I open my door and peak down the hallway to see if there is anyone roaming the hall- no one. I walk out the door and down the hall, quikly. I turn the corner to see the dean talking with a student of 'level D'.She quickly turns her head in my direction and I hide, I missed showers this morning due to me sowing and fixing my uniform, I'm not supposed to be out and about right now.  I can hear her walking down the shallow hall, her high heels clicking getting faster and faster before reaching me- I feel hands grab me, about to scream my mouth covered with big masculine hands- "Shh, if she catches you, your gone. You have to stay as quiet as possible." Her head turns the corner, my heart races, her eyes dart right and left but she doesn't see us. I don't even know who 'us' is, how is this possible? I feel a faint coming along, my legs and arms are starting to shake, my breath get's shallower as time goes by, she turns around and then looks quickly. I can hear her heels clicking away and then the exit door snaps and locks. When he lets go of me I still hang on and he turns me around, I can see his face- at least some of it.  "hey are you okay?" He asks. It's desmond, why is he here? helping me of all things.  "I'm fine I just- " Everything goes black and the sounds shuts down.  ...**..  I wake up in some place cold, fog dispersed around me, "Hello?" I ask? My voice echoes three times over, my long brunette hair is unbraided and flowing down to my hips. I get up off the ground and walk forward, I look down and then I hear a twig snap and I look around seeing shadows run from place to place, my heart racing, until it stops and faces me but doesn't step into the only light that is surrounding me.  "Who are you?" He asks.  "I- don't know." I say, but that's not what I wanted to say, so I try it again.  "I a- don't know who I am. I- don't know." This person runs around me, then T E E T H  covered in blood. I gasp and wake up in my bed, sweating- that was all a dream?
