Chapter ninety six

2032 Words

Sierra’s POV Mr. Smith’s voice cut through the tense silence. “You should have never told her.” His gaze burned into my mother, his tone edged with something raw and bitter. “Now she’ll never be safe.” My mother’s silver eyes flashed, her stance shifting as she squared her shoulders. “You think keeping it from her would’ve made her safe?” She let out a sharp breath. “She needed to know.” Mr. Smith let out a humorless laugh. “And what good has it done?” He gestured around us, his hands shaking slightly. “Look at them. Look at her.” I swallowed hard, every muscle in my body coiled tight. Look at her. Like I was something to be watched. Something to be feared. Jayden’s grip on me tightened. “She’s still Sierra,” he said, his voice low and deadly. Alpha Lawrence finally spoke. “No.”
