Change of plans

I have always been a very s****l person but this was something totally different. Nothing was enough. I was on a new kind of high that I had never even heard about. Pure magical pleasure. ”Damn… This totally wrecked my plans and i’m blaming you.” I said as I sat back up.

”What plans are you blaming me for?” He almost sounded hurt and a bit jealous. 

”I was gonna tell my family before any marking of sorts.. just to be able to tell them instead of them finding out by seeing us together or seeing marks.” I explained and I could see his whole body relax. 

”Oh, sorry. I would have waited if you told me to. I don’t think I'll be able to say no to anything you say.” he looked into my eyes and gave me a light kiss on my cheek. 

”I think we are kind of busted anyway, I’ve never been quiet when it comes to s*x ever in my life and I have a feeling I took it to a new level just now.” I felt his body tense up once again at the mention of me and s*x with anyone other than him. 

”If I got to decide you could go even louder.” He winked at me.

”Maybe we should go downstairs and face the crowd?” I knew we had to but kind of wanted him to say no and have us escape out the window or something.

”We should.. what exactly are we telling them?” he asked. 

”That you’re my mate and I’m yours. Not that the mark doesn’t say all that but still. Oh, Stacy my best friend and my brothers mate is gonna go crazy about it just so you know. And Jake already know so you have nothing to worry about.” I said with a smile as I walked around trying to find my underwear.

”I think they’re somewhere over there.” He said and pointed towards my mirror.

We both got dressed and fixed ourselves up, enough do be presentable to everyone and to not be too obvious. He stood by the door waiting for me to touch up my makeup, watching me and the mark he had carefully placed on my neck.. It felt good and I still couldn’t help myself from blushing, and this was just a look. What was the mate-bond doing to me?! I shrugged it off and looked at myself feeling happy about my work.

“you know you don’t need makeup right? You look beautiful nonetheless.” he said with affection in his eyes. 

This made my blush go into overdrive and I bet you could see it through all the makeup. Damn you James I thought as I walked to towards him, gave him a sweet smile and passed him. I could still feel his eyes on me all the way down the stairs. There were only a few people in the foaje and they turned to us, gently bowed their heads before turning back to their conversations. But Jacob had a different reaction when we entered the great hall, me just a few seconds before James. He just gave James a stern look before turning his attention to me and mind-linking.

~Really? In the middle of a party? What are you? 16 again?~

~Oh shut up! It’s hard to fight the mate-bond. It’s intense Jake, no kidding!~ I answered back

~well it made you even more annoying than before. If that’s even possible..~ typical Jake comment. 

~Ha ha, very funny Jake~ and with that I blocked him for the first time in three years.

I looked up at James and gave him an apologetic smile. He just smiled back and took my hand in his. And with that calming feeling washing over me we started to walk towards my parents. We didn’t get far until Stacy was standing right in front of us and giving me a look.

“hey Stacy.” I tried to sound casual but I knew there wasn’t anything casual with me and James hold hands.

“don’t hey me! What aren’t you te..” She stopped mid sentence and I knew she just found the mark on my neck. “Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my god! Are you serious?”

“you weren’t kidding about the crazy part” James laughed and I couldn’t help but join him.

“oh this is calm, you haven’t seen crazy yet.” I told him. 

“I’m not crazy! I just react a little more dramatic to most things, okay?” Stacy defended herself. 

“and I wouldn’t have you any other way. By the way, Stacy this is James. James this is the famous Stacy.” I introduced them.

“it’s nice to meet you Stacy.” He reached out his hand to her.

“likewise Alpha.” She said and shook it. “So… wait, does this mean that you are moving? I mean becoming Luna of the Moon Creek pack means you have to live there right.” And when she said that it hit me that we wouldn’t be living in the same house anymore.

“I guess so. I hadn’t really thought about the moving part yet.” I felt James hand squeeze mine a little which calmed my down again. 

“who is moving?” He said as he had overheard the last part on his way over to them. “Alpha James” he greeted. “So who’s moving?” He returned to his question.

“I am?” I said with my most innocent look. 

“what?? Why would you be mov..” even he stopped mid sentence just like Stacy had as he found our fingers intertwined. I had never been one for PDA with my random night guys so he knew it was serious. Then he found the mark, I followed his eyes the entire time. 

“yup..” I popped the ‘p’. “He’s my mate. Just found out..” I waited for a response but it didn’t come. Rebecca must have sensed him because she was there in just a few seconds.

“You work fast Zara and for the first time in history you got Marcus to shut up.” This made all of us laugh, except Marcus who’s still seemed to be in a state of shock. “Hi you must be James, I’m Rebecca. This i***t’s mate, wife, mother of his kids and Zara’s sister in law.”

“yes I am. Nice to see how you compliment each other with words.” He jokes and Rebecca chuckled in return.

“she is my better half that’s for sure. Sorry for that by the way. Just hard to understand how my annoying little sister ‘Rai’ here actually had a mate out there somewhere.” Marcus said. 

“oh you are so funny Marcus! I just have to say that Jake handled it with more word than you.” I had to tease him back. 

“what? I thought he would just go to attack and ask questions later.” he was generally surprised. 

“he yelled a little then he dropped it. It wasn’t so bad.” I explained. 

“impressed that you survived Jake. He is super protective of our sister. Oh, can I be there when you tell him you’re moving. It gonna be awesome!” Marcus was having to much fun over this. 

"you enjoy his meltdown a little to much brother.” He just shrugged at my comment.

A man in his early twenties approached our little group. I didn’t recognize him but then again I didn’t know most of the people here anyway. It was weird, he was walking straight at me.

“Excuse me Luna, James. Can I talk to you for a minute, we have a problem.” It surprised me that he didn’t address James as Alpha.

“of course John.” He told the man before turning to me. “I’ll find you later, okay?” He didn’t wait for an answer before he gave me a quick kiss before walking out of the front door with John.

Wait.. he had just called me Luna. I was their new Luna. And he knew already?? Oh, James must have told him about me during dinner or he sensed it. Pack members can sense their Alpha and Luna and with the mark it had become official.

“okay, so I need details girl! Like right now!!” Stacy brought me back to the moment. 

“and with that I’m out. I’m happy for you Rai, truly.” He said giving me a hug before walking away with Rebecca in his arms.

“where do I begin..” 

“from the beginning! And don’t skip anything!” She said and we started to walk towards the patio around back so not everyone at the damn ball would hear us.

“okay, so I told you I had a feeling about tonight right. And this dress was totally the right choice by the way. Anyhow, after I had gotten out for some air when all the packs started to arrive I was surrounded by this feeling. It was like a drug I just never wanted quit, real intense. And I felt this pull towards him as he was talking to father and when our eyes met it was just.. if Luke made me see stars the way James looked at me was the whole universe. I felt like I was drowning but at the same time floating on clouds. It really hard to explain. It just made sense.” I rambled on. 

"and what did your dad say? I mean wasn’t it awkward to have him just stand there and watch you two fall for each other?” it was a fair question, I was his little girl and he never liked my nightly adventures before with guys.

“not really. I kind of forgot he was there to be honest. Oh and he makes me blush Stace!! Me blushing! I think I’ve blush more in the past hours than I have in the past 10 years. I don’t know how he does it but.. yeah..” I blushed again. 

“I miss that revelation feeling when you find your mate. It is the best feeling ever. The only thing I could think of that can top that would be seeing your kid for the first time.” she zoned out for a second. 

“STACY MELODY O’CONNOR! Are you not telling me something????” if she was hiding a pregnancy from me I would kill her and my brother.

“I’m not pregnant Z! Not yet, but we’ve talked about it and in a few years when he’s done with school and we have our own place. But yeah, you’re gonna have a lot of nieces and nephews after that.” 

“It still weird to me that you’re sleeping with my brother. The mate part I have no issues with but the thought of you two.. together.. can’t handle that.”

“Sorry, but that’s what the moon goddess gave us so live with it. I’m not leaving him. Ever.”

“I know. I would never want you to either. Just don’t tell me about it. There is only so much I can know about him without it being weird and awkward.” We laughed.

We gossiped a little more before heading back inside. I still had responsibilities as a part of the alpha family at these parties, but it’s not that bad. Some friendly chats with pack members and other packs ‘elite’ as Chris used to put it. So now I’m walking around and having brief conversations with some Alphas, Luna’s and beta’s from close by packs and Stacy was out looking for him and probably telling all about my new mate.. Typical Stacy. Anyway I was now talking to Crystal, I adored her the only problem was.. she was Luke’s mother which meant Luke was soon there too. Luke had taken over as Alpha from his father about three years ago but senior and Crystal still came to our events. She liked seeing everyone, old and new.

"So I see you’ve found your mate Zara.” Crystal gestured towards the mark on my neck and once again I couldn’t help but blush. Damn you James!

“yes, recently actually so we’re still getting to know each other.” I said casually. 

 “who is it?” Luke asked as he joined our conversation and I could tell he wanted to know if he had competition or not.

 “Hey Luke nice of you to come.” I didn’t have time for him and his flirty ways and I was sure that James wouldn’t have any of it either if he knew about it.

: “I will always come for you Zara.”

The smirk on his face wasn’t needed to understand that he was thinking of the last time we had s*x. I couldn’t believe I ever found him sexy. The sandy blonde hair without a strain out of place and tone body, sure but he was an ass. Why hadn’t I seen that before, he was a terrible person, possessive (in a bad way since he had to right to be) and sleazy which made me shiver at the thought that I had ever slept with him. And as if he read my mind I could sense James’s presence closer and closer to me until I felt his hand on my back.

“Sorry I was gone for so long.” He gave me a look before turning to Luke and Crystal. “Always a pleasure Crystal. Luke.”

 “your mate I assume. You did good Zara.”

 “can’t really complain that much now can I” and I winked at James causing him do let out a small laugh.

 “Alpha James laughing, that’s new. I guess it’s true that the mate-bond is life changing”

"no need to be jealous Luke, you’ll find yours one day too.” I pushed his sore spot and I knew it.

“he found her actually and lost her. I still can’t believe you could reject her like that Luke.” Wait, he had rejected his mate? Why would anyone want do that? I never wanted to be apart from James for to long and he just threw his away.

“she was no good and I already had my eye on someone better suited to be our Luna. But maybe I have to rethink my plans.” His eyes was stuck to me.

Was he saying he wanted me to be his..? That he rejected his mate for me? What the f**k?!?!
