IT WAS SUNDAY MORNING, and the noise of Delilah’s family gathering in the kitchen for breakfast permeated the house. The sunlight streamed in through the open window, caressing my bare shoulders. I rolled over, groaning as a splitting headache arched across my forehead. A light knock sounded against the doorframe where Delilah stood there with a wide toothy grin. She crossed the room. The mattress sunk as she sat next to me, waving a steaming cup of coffee under my nose. I extended my hand to grab the heavenly mug but Delilah held it just out of reach. “If you want it, you will have to come and get it!” She stuck out her tongue and gracefully jumped off the bed without spilling a drop. She danced to the doorway and down the hall. “Augh, why are you so chipper this morning? It’s only 9 AM
