Chapter 4: Meeting Mate 2

675 Words
A warmth unlike any before spread through the clearing as Lumina’s form shifted again. Golden flames licked at her skin, flickering like living fire, and the scent of warm embers and dawn filled the air. Her eyes blazed like molten gold, endless and fierce, and wings of fire seemed to shimmer just beyond sight, brushing reality with radiant heat. “Ah… finally,” a voice sang, bright and ringing, carrying both laughter and authority. “I am Solara,” she said, spinning lightly, leaving trails of sparks that danced in the moonlight like tiny suns. “The Phoenix. Born of fire and rebirth, I rise where others fall, mate. Do you feel the warmth?” Her golden aura pulsed, flowing over Lumina’s form, wrapping everything nearby in light and heat. Solara’s feathers glimmered along her arms like liquid sunlight, each movement painting ripples of fire in the air. She tilted her head, a grin dancing on her lips. “I promise… I play hard, fight harder, and when needed… I burn brighter than any obstacle.” She leaned closer to Draven, her fiery essence brushing against him, warm and alive. “Now you’ve met Solara,” she said, voice softening like coals settling at twilight. “And soon… the next will appear.” The air shimmered softly, as if touched by silver mist, and Lumina’s glow shifted once more. Gentle moonlight wrapped her form, flowing like liquid silver over her skin. Her eyes gleamed with quiet wisdom, pale as the first light of dawn, and a delicate aura of stars danced along her hair, curling like streams of light around her shoulders. “I am Selunara,” she said, voice calm and melodic, like wind brushing over still water. “The Moonlight Oracle. I see what has been… and what may yet come. Secrets hidden, paths untraveled… all whisper to me.” She raised her hands slowly, trailing faint glimmers of starlight in arcs above the clearing. The air smelled of night-blooming flowers and soft rain. “I am here to guide… to illuminate truths unseen, mate. And sometimes… to gently remind those who wander of their own strength.” Her gaze fell on Draven, soft but piercing, and a quiet warmth settled in the clearing. “You have met others… but now, with me, the past and future both lean closer to hear your choices.” A ripple of silver light spread outward, echoing Selunara’s calm authority and then she transformed back to lumina's normal body.Lumina’s body trembled as the last spark of Selunara’s silver light faded from her skin. She blinked rapidly, her strength draining like water slipping through her fingers. Her breaths came in short, shallow gasps, and for the first time, she felt fragile, human again. Her knees buckled before she could steady herself. The world tilted, spinning around her like a storm of shadows and moonlight. A firm, strong hand wrapped around her waist, stopping her fall before she could hit the floor. “Hey!” Draven’s voice was low but urgent. “Stay with me!” Warmth radiated from him, steady and unwavering, as he pulled her close. She leaned against him, trembling, and he adjusted his hold, keeping her upright. His eyes searched her face, sharp and cautious. “Who...what...are you?” he asked, his voice rough with a mix of worry and disbelief. Lumina’s lips quivered, but no words came. She only gave a faint nod, letting the heat of his presence steady her. She didn’t answer, not yet. Asher and Jayden stayed back, alert but silent, giving the two space. Only Draven remained at her side, holding her like she might shatter if he let go. “Don’t move,” he said, softer this time. “I’ve got you… whoever you are or whatever you are I'll always stand by you...just know you're not alone.” Her heart beat rapidly against him, a small, quiet reminder: even when she was weak, even when her body could barely stand, she wasn’t alone. Her consciousness faded into darkness.
