Predator and Prey

The werewolves were the fiercest rivals of the Vampires due to the fact that they possessed almost the same abilities in terms of speed and strength. The fact that they could also turn to a beast from their human form and vice versa was also a big plus for them. But unlike the Vampires that remain young forever, the Werewolves actually age and can die like normal beings.

The Witches were known for their spells and the ability to manipulate the dark arts. The sorcerer supreme is the strongest height that a witch or wizard could acheive. They could also increase their physical abilities like speed and strength with their spells but most at times, it takes time to be able to cast those spells and when you're up against a vampire or Werewolf, it's safe to say that time isn't on your side because of their speed.

Hybrids are actually the offsprings of A Vampire and a Werewolf. They are actually stronger than the two breeds and the weakness of exposure to sunlight isn't with them. The first vampire and Werewolf that produced an offspring, actually fled Luton town and went far away. They were totally rejected and were about to be destroyed until they fled. The Myth holds that a great threat would come from a faraway land to exact revenge on Luton town and no one specie will be able to stop the threat alone.

There have been increased killings in the town and as such Derek would need to go with the pack. The killings weren't normal as they were done by mythical creatures. The Werewolves attributed the killings to the Vampires and the Vampires attributed the killings to the Witches and the Witches attributed the killings to the Werewolves. This was all a master plot all taking place behind the scenes. Derek would be absent from school and from town for a certain amount of time, as this matter needed the attention of the pack.

It was finally the next morning and for the first time Leslie was excited to go to school not because of the lectures but because if her new found friend Derek. When she got to the class she looked around but she couldn't find Derek anywhere. She thought maybe he was the type that comes late to class so she decided to wait an hour and still she couldn't see Derek in class. She took out her cell phone and she sent him a text message but she got no replies from him, normally Derek replies her message before a minute but this time around there was no reply. She tried calling his number too but it wasn't connecting and that left her so worried. She kept texting and calling Derek but she couldn't just get to him and she was so heartbroken and worried.

Leslie couldn't seem to concentrate on what she was being taught in school because her mind was troubled and she was just hoping that nothing bad happened to Derek. As soon as the bell rang, she took her backpack and she went home immediately.

" How was school today baby? Did you meet your new boyfriend?" Brenda teased Leslie. " School was horrible mum, I didn't see Derek in school today too" Leslie replied in a very low tone. " Did you try calling or texting him?" Brenda asked again. " I texted him but I got no replies mum, I tried calling him too mum but his number doesn't seem to be connecting. I am really worried mum, I finally found a friend and now he's nowhere to be found" Leslie replied as her voice got even lower and sadder. " Don't you know any of his friends? Or don't you know where he lives in? " Brenda asked as she was taking out the pie from the oven. " I don't think Derek speaks with anyone apart from me in our class and I just met him yesterday so how am I to know where he stays at mum?" Leslie asked Brenda and it seems she was getting angry. " Will you care for some pie baby? " Brenda asked. "No mum, I'm okay thanks" Leslie said to Brenda as she was heading upstairs straight to her room with a gloomy mood.

When she got to her room she kept on asking herself " where might he be? Why will he make friends with me just to dish me off the next day?" She kept on trying his number but it wasn't working.

This continued for a week and Leslie started to give up on seeing him again. She was really mad at herself for allowing a stranger into her heart that easy but she felt there was something special about Derek and that was why they easily connected without any stress. When Leslie got home that night, she was watching the news with Roger and Brenda and the reports showed that their have been some sightings of dead bodies in Luton town with each of the bodies having two holes on their neck as if they were bitten by something so it was advisable for everyone to stay indoors during the night time at Luton town.

When Leslie went to school the next morning, the news was trending about the dead bodies that was found in Luton town. This time around, humans were now the being attacked and killed. This was very suspicious because all the mythical creatures made a pact to never harm or attack any human in Luton town. Leslie wasn't really interested in the news because she was still hurt by the fact that she couldn't see Derek and it's been more than a week. She continued her usual boring life of reading novels because she had no friend. She goes to school, comes back home and read novels. It was a repeated cycle that kept on happening because Derek was nowhere to be found. Leslie decided to delete Derek's number because she felt it was deteriorating her mental health and she hated the fact that she couldn't stop thinking about him. She had to take a brave step and that was by deleting his number and clearing the messages they had written on the first day.

Leslie got back from school and she was helping her mum out in the kitchen, they were baking some cake but they ran out of baking flour and eggs. The time was about 6:30 pm in the evening and Brenda gave Leslie some cash to quickly rush over to the local store to get two crates of egg and some baking flour. Leslie was already dirty from the baking so she decided to go take her bath before she went to the local store to go get what mum needed to complete the baking. By the time Leslie was done bathing and freshening up the time was already 7:00 pm and she left the house to go what Brenda needed to complete the baking.

The store was 10 minutes away from Leslie's house and she left the house at exactly 7:13 pm. Everywhere was already dark and all she could see was the street lights and she heard some dogs barking heavily. If she knew, what was about to happen, she wouldn't have gone to the store that particular night.

She got to a point where the street light was tripping off and on and it started to give her the creeps ad the barking of the dogs increased. The light kept tripping off and on as she walked down the lonely streets alone. She felt someone was following her but whenever she looked behind she sees no one behind her and so she kept on walking to the store.

She finally arrived at the store and she bought all her mum wanted her to buy and she got some extra stuffs for herself. She paid for it all with her card and she was already on her way home. The thought of her passing through that street where the street light kept tripping on and off really gave her goosebumps and she decided to run past that area whenever she gets there. She was being stalked like the way a predator stalks their prey. Leslie was going to be the next victim.

She finally got to that spot where the street light kept tripping off and on and the dogs kept barking aggressively. She was about running past that area until she saw something that looked like a human being but with a red glowing eyes. She thought she was just seeing things and by the time the street light tripped off and on, the person was no where to be found again and she concluded that she was just seeing things. Her hair was flipped backwards and when she turned, no one was there. She still kept on seeing the red glowing eyes whenever the light tripped off but when they tripped back on, nothing was there and this really gave her the chills. There was nothing she could do because it was a lonely road.
