He returns back to door in no time with a black, satin box in his hand and my toes feeling like jumping for how it's going to be, my heart speeding with his each action.
And the moment he opens it up, I feel my jaw dropping down to the floor. I am seeing the most beautiful necklace of the world right now.
It is a collar necklace incorporated with a glittering, blue sapphire in the middle and studded with small, white diamonds all the way around the lace in a beautiful two way pattern. This is the most gorgeous and most glamourous piece of jewellery in the world.
"I am sorry, I am quite bad at...at selecting stuff like, like this for wome..." Adam tetters but my whole focus is on the lace.
"Adorable..." The only words that leave my mouth. I am absolutely astounded by its artisitic beauty, tracing each diamond from my fingers carefully, again and again. I feel that if I lift it up to wear it, it may break into pieces.
At once, I hear him sighing in relief. I look up at him and his lips form a curve from the corners. He is smiling. His contagious smile that makes blush like a fireball.
He locks his blue eyes into mine and I feel myself caught. His eye contact is so much blistering and absorbing that they can make me commit any crime of this world. For now, I just want to commmit the crime of kissing his lips.
I realise that he is standing quite close to me. Closer than he was to me in the lab. The closest he's ever been to me throughout the year. When was the last time he was this close to me? Probably, seven months back when I was bandaging a minor cut on his forehead.
I notice him grinning as he scans my face from my eyes to my lips and I gulp nervously. The feeling is aesthatically beautiful, I like him when he gives me attention though it has happened only four times in a year.
"Happy Anniversary, Jane..." He whispers and these three words appear to me simply influencing, like a magic. A magic that makes everything vanish away from my surroundings, except him and his light blue eyes piercing soothingly into mine. He remembered it! This is all just so exciting for me, I'm over the moon.
"Happy Anniversary, Ad-Adam..." I tetter because firstly, I've hardly taken his name to him and secondly, I've got a lump in my throat due to his unexpected surprises. He chuckles, and I blush crimson so bad, I can bet.
"I don't blame you for that." He says, and his cheeks get redder. Oh my God, he is blushing. Holy cows!
"We should start taking each other's names, frequently." He states, raising his brows excitingly. "What do you say?"
Aww so cute.
"I guess, then I need more practice than you." I let out a chuckle and he grins until his phone rings.
I look down at the necklace in my hand and look up at him. Won't he make me wear it? Shall I ask? No, it would feel weird. I mean if he has gifted you, doesn't mean that he'll make me wear it too, but I want him to.
"Amm...my phone is ringing." He says, confused.
Come on ask him Jane. Ask him to wear it to you.
"I know...erm, see you?" I say unheartedly, noticing the emergence in his voice to receive the phone. He better finish his talk first because nextly, I want to see his phone in the bin for disturbing our first beautiful moment.
"Amm...Good Night." He states and strolls away to his room and then to his lab.
Fine, I can wear it on my own. I look down at the necklace and soon, I jump for joy and hop and gallop like a kangaroo all over the place. I am so happy, and so mad that he brought me a gift, feeling extremely at the top of the world.
I run to my room and decide to keep it safely inside my wardrobe, without trying. I am feeling depressed that he didn't make me wear it because I admire him more than his gifts.
Anyway, I bury my face into the pillow and chuckle at the thought, the way I doubted him the whole day about those papers but the way he took my heart away with this beautiful gift, I am unable to control my laughter over my foolishness.

"What the hell?" Winnie exclaims, throwing away the jeans from her hands. "How could he not made you wear it?"
"Because his phone was ringing, Winnie." I say, selecting another.
"I know but he should have preferred you over a silly phone call, no doubt."
"But I said see you first. And he was acting quite weird so I just decided to let it go." I drag her out of the store before walking down the Mall escalator.
"Wait, what weird?" She asks, raising her eyebrow.
"Weird as in, I mean, he appeared uneasy and told me that his phone is ringing, even though I could hear it. And then when I said see you, he got confused and went away, wishing me night. I don't know if he was..."
"No Jane!" She speaks loudly, attracting few people's attention around. "He wanted you to ask him for wearing it!"
I snort. "He'd never want that, Winnie. Atleast when he has a wife named Jane." I say and start walking but she pulls me back with my wrist.
"Why not? You said that he was uneasy, he told you that his phone was ringing to remind you that hurry up and ask him to make you wear it because his phone is ringing!" She flutters her eyelashes.
"No way Winnie! He'd never want that. He'd never want me. It's awkward. Because it's just me, Winnie." I tell her but she rolls her eyes.
"What if he loves you too? Or maybe has started to grow feelings for you? Is there anything awkward in it?" She nods until her phone rings. And my heart skips a beat at her words.
"Hey...yes we're heading to the exit...Yeah!" She hangs up grinnig, and takes me by my hand.
"What happened Winnie?" I ask, clutching tight the shopping bags as she towes me through the Mall.
"Peter is here for picking us." She winks at me. Peter is Winnie's husband and a businessman, so mostly remains away from home. But whenever he is home, he looks after her well and she remains extremely happy too.
"Hey!" Winnie runs and hugs him as she spots him leaning against his car and then, they murmer something to each other at which Winnie blushed and Peter gave her a soft peck on her lips. They both look so perfect with each other.
Things like this always make me dejected. I know I can't ever have all this, and it's so embarassing at times but Adam and me? Sounds alienatic!
"Hey Jane!" Peter waves at me, interrupting my thoughts. "How are you?"
"Hey!" I walk towards them before giving me a quick hug. "I'm good."
"How's Adam?" He asks and I glance at Winnie.
"He is good too." I stutter until Winnie interrupts.
"Let's go Peter, Jane has to cook." She utters before he nods and we all get into the car. Soon we hit the road and he drops me at my home. I invited them inside but Winnie said she needed to give Peter a surprise. So, they went off.
Surprises and kisses, these two things are incredibly fascinating for two people in a relationship of a husband and a wife. They snowballs their relations and I know, his necklace did the same for me. I've started liking him even more.
Winnie:
Do ask him about the papers, Jane Foster!
I roll my eyes at her text and could literally feel the seriousity of her voice in her text.
I wish I could hug him for what he gave to me on the Anniversary and me, on the other hand, gifted him nothing. Next time, maybe. But whatever it is, I will ask him about those papers!
