I drink some more wine to keep myself and my bare back, warm. The cold wind is constantly blowing on the terrace. I see him from the direct line of my vision, chatting with Nina, his Personal Assistant.
The envy inside me is burning as hell as I see both of them are cheering the drinks and chuckling together. I always hated her for some unknown reason but this never came into my mind, the envy. I sip up the whole glass of my wine and demand the other. The drink inside me runs hot through my throat before landing into my stomach. Why can't he hire a male PA?
She is a b***h, I think to myself. Today she's been wearing a short, strapless, royal blue dress ending much before her knees and trust me she's looking a b***h in blue. He won't be impressed by him just because it's blue.
I play with the beads of the bracelet in my hand to avoid looking at them. I know the way she looks at him and talks to him and moreover, flirts with him and compliments him. Why did he bring me to the Party if he wanted to be with her?
I take my another glass of wine and touch it to my lips when a hand stops me. I look up to see my Adam, standing beside me, his touch making my body go even colder.
Wait, my Adam?
"Jane, what are you doing?" He asks in his soft, benevolent voice. His voice has always been music to my ears and his eyes are the calmest landscape for my eyes. Isn't he perfect for me?
"Hey Adam. How are you? Haven't seen you in a while?" I taunt.
What the f**k? Did I just taunt him? I realise that the wine is showing its effects. But I am not feeling unwell or uncontrolled becuase I didn't drink much.
"Hey, how much I drank?" I ask the bartender.
"This is your seventh Mam." He answers.
"What?" I literally choke.
"What?" Adam exclaims in surprise, looking at me.
"No, no he is lying." I tell Adam. "It was my third." I glare at the bartender.
"Come on Jane. Get up." He orders and I put down my glass before getting down from the stool. I struggle with my fancy dress to take a step and trip but Adam's hands hold me back from falling.
