Noticed

“All my life, I’ve been a runt, a virgin with no wings to fly. I’ve always wondered what it’s like, giving myself to someone.” - Enoma Pearl … My heart thudded as the door opened only for me to see a room with dark lavender walls. The floors were violet, checked tiles with a white chandelier just at the middle. The room had two wisteria doors at the left and right arenas. I noticed on the center was a large, oval table with meals plastered on it. Marina looked at me that minute in amazement. “Impossible, they brought us food?” she reacted. “I don’t understand, why would they?” “I have no idea.” I said, staring around for any kind of threats. Destiny stepped just beside us with Angela beside her. “Wicked.” Destiny reacted with a smirk. I expected Angela to say something but she didn’t, instead she stared at it all timidly making me wonder. Was her cold gone? Or was it all a game…? “Sit down, please.” The commander said. Everyone did as he said and that minute, I stared at the royal styled dining table and chair which had purple designs. Just as I examined it, some guards opened one of the door ways with a woman walking in. Plus sized, she was dressed in a peach eleven taffeta, medieval dress. I noticed the lengthy hands, with two females stepping in with her. They were dressed in peach and white vintage gown, with a square neckline. “Thanks, Commander Blue, I’ll take it from here.” the plus sized woman said. “Of course, milady.” Commander Blue said with a slight bow, before commencing to walk out the door we came in from. The sooner he slammed the door, the woman walked in front of the table’s edge sliding her hands on it. “Hello ladies, welcome to the first phase of the Games,” she said, with a smile, clasping her hands. “I’m Lady Peach of the Vallies Arena. I handle the new intakes. KOTA, the Kingdom of the Awakened is a quite tricky place to be in. But don’t worry; you’ll be given hand books.” She clapped her hands twice and immediately something lit up from the female’s hands, a mini basket making the girls gasp. “Don’t be afraid,” Lady Peach said. “What you see now, is glimmer magic, fantasy is our specialty as we were designed to make people happy.” The two females commenced distributing the books at each of us. “In the handbooks, are rules and regulations to follow. I advise you read it well because the penalties are severe when crossed-“ One of the girls raised up her hands up. “Yes, go on.” Lady Peach said. “When do we meet our Masters?” I noticed she had a red hair in soft waves that were clawed by a clip at the back, with mini curls at each hair sides. “Tonight,” Lady Peach replied, “The King needs to approve the event before the Games. The King is a busy creature.” Another girl in blonde hair raised her hands. “Yes, go on.” Lady Peach replied. “Is it true that the Lycan King is also in search of his mate?” “Yes, but I advise you not to raise your stakes high. The Lycan King awaits his mate, wanting nothing else but the woman destined for him.” “I see.” the blonde replied, whispering at the red haired girl, anyone sitting two seats away could hear. “The handbook says the higher the rank, the more points we have.” the red head said discreetly. “We should go for the high ranks only.” the blonde haired whispered back, replying. “I agree.” she replied her partner. “Anymore, questions?” Lady Peach asked, looking around before continuing. The girls puzzled expression met hers and she continued, “In the absence of no questions, you can commence eating while I sign your handbooks,” Lady Peach said going around to each girl. I watched as glitters shimmered from her hands, with sets of cutleries emanating on the each girl’s table arrangement. Once more, there were gasps. Lady Peach walked to our individual tables, putting a glitter seal on our handbooks. The girls commenced eating, and just as Marina tried eating, I held her hand. Destiny did the same to Angela. “This is a Game, remember? What if it’s poisoned? We should wait a bit.” I whispered, calculatingly. Marina nodded, in synch with Angela. After waiting a few minutes, I figured the food was safe and signalled we ate. As we commenced eating, I took from the roasted chicken settling some salad from the dressings. It’s been five days since I ate. “These seals are proofs you’re the Master’s chosen. Protect your reputation at all cost, and stay away from the Greens. The Greens snoop for scandals, and are quick to ruin a lady’s reputation.” Lady Peach said, “My apprentices would guide you to your rooms, after.” “You seem familiar. Have we met before?” she asked. Immediately, I looked around meeting curious gazes on me. “No. I’ve never been here.” I said, trying to not to have a meltdown from the numerous gazes. “Oh, my apologies. It must be a coincidence then.” she said before directing to everyone, “See you all tonight.” Lady Peach strode out the door slamming it shut. The minute she did, the blonde girl stood up from her seat approaching us holding the handbook. “Hi, I’m Samantha.” she said, hands forward at mine for a handshake which I returned. “I’m Enoma, nice meeting you,” I replied and instantly she leaned in. “You caught the eye of Lady Peach and should use it to your advantage. Let’s team up; I have lots of killer tips to attract a high rank.” Samantha said. “Over there is Madeline,” she pointed to the blonde, saying. “Thanks. No offence, but I um... have my team-” “First rules of the Game,” Samantha cut, waving the handbook. “Never hang around losers. They’ll lower your chances of surviving.” “I’m not sure what you mean by that.“ “Let’s be sincere,” she said, even closer to my face with a devious smile. “We are here to play a game, being nice, polite? It won’t get you anywhere. This is where I come in, and why my partner extends an invite.” “What are you proposing? That I leave my team and join yours, because you assure me stuff?” I whispered. “I don’t know where you were taught, but I’m not that person.” I had lots of people my actions could hurt. Marina, Destiny and Angela. Even though I didn’t trust them fully, it was still wrong to treat them like that. “Are you kidding? This is a lifetime opportunity, you’re so going to regret it dork,” she hissed. “Just let me be, okay?” She stood up, stomping to her seat. As she sat down, I saw Madeline converse with her, with her hands fisted and some words her lips read even from distance. “That b***h, who does she think she is?” Madeline stared at me with a glare, walking up to me. “Hello, Enoma, you probably never met me but I’d say you watch your back. No one ever refuses my invite and lives a normal life again.” Madeline walked back to her seat with Samantha, who giggled almost like they were enjoying this. “What was that about?” Destiny asked. “No idea.” I muttered. “I know girls like them. They think they are better than you, going as far as to bully you.” Destiny said. “Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.”
