Everyone froze in place as Dorian gave the order.
A small grin formed at my lips as I held his stone-cold gaze. He didn't like being pushed into a corner—that much I knew. I didn't want to start a fight with Violet and Raye around since they could be used against me. I knew better than any outsider how the Vargsward family loved to play dirty.
Threatening Dorian was a risk, but for an old man who refused to die, he would value his life above his pride.
It was a gamble. One which seemed to pay off.
"Lucien. What exactly are you after?" Dorian asked, leaning heavily on his cane. Despite his unbothered expression, I could sense the change in the rhythm of his heartbeat.
