Chapter 29 Pauline had no interest in seeing the McAdie house, and neither did Esther, for different reasons. Pauline knew McAdie had never rented the place before, so she expected he’d be difficult. And because Veronica had placed herself in the middle of the transaction, Pauline was not at all sure she’d get her commission. So she wasn’t about to encourage success.
