The most remarkable event of that day was Harry’s encounter with a young man he passed as he was walking back to the Kusi from town. Harry had browsed in a shop that sold children’s toys and sporting goods, mostly for visiting beachgoers. He thought perhaps he might buy a mask with a snorkel. He’d wade out some distance and crouch down in waist-high water to catch sight of underwater fauna and flora. He wasn’t ready to take a boat trip, and he had no use for swim fins.
